  1. At least Chase Petty is not on the top 100 list...yet.
  2. This was my second favorite article of the off-season. Fantastic job Nick. By the way, my favorite article of the off season was "Twins Sign Buxton to Long-Term Contract". If I were a SP in the majors, I sure would want to pitch with Buck backing me up at CF and Correa behind me at SS. Both are Platinum Glove winners and at the 2 critical positions, up the middle. I also like Polanco at 2B and Gio at 3B. I would prefer Kirilloff at 1B, over Sano. Kep in RF should have been awarded a gold glove by now. No question Kep can field his position. LF, how about speedy Austin Martin or Royce Lewis? Jeffers is a good defensive catcher (good pitch framer) and did Sanchez catch when Sonny Gray's turn to pitch came around when they were both with the Yankees?
  3. Why not Arraez as the everyday DH and he can substitute at 2B and 3B? Arraez is a hitter who makes things happen when he bats, because he doesn't strike out much..
  4. What trade with the A's?
  5. At least the FO signed Buck. I blame the FO for signing Donaldson in the first place. He and Rocco may have very different approaches to being a productive team member. But now I am wondering why in the world the FO gave up the potential of Petty for 2 years of the veteran, Sonny Gray,? It just makes no sense, if the team was not going to use the Donaldson money to sign Story. Even if that was the plan, you sign Story first, then you shed Donaldson, or you enter into one or two contingency contracts. But with no Trevor Story signed, then the Yankee trade doesn't make sense at all. Someone is really confused here, and I beginning to worry that I'm not the one who is confused.
  6. The worst part was Sanchez's lackadaisical reactions as runners were advancing. What has the FO done? How old is AJ now?.
  7. I agree it is beyond the time to get off the pot. We had the SS problem solved, but then 35 hours later, the FO traded K-F to the evil empire, for a second string catcher and an average 3B (remember Miranda is due a shot at 3B, based on his performance last year). We fans all thought there must be a plan to sign Story, but we were mistaken. Apparently there was no plan to sign Story, just a wish and a prayer.
  8. Thank you Twins Daily. The Caretaker is a great idea and I am happy to contribute. TD is worth every penny of my contribution.
  9. I bet these projections have K-F at SS and Donaldson at 3B and RV at Catcher. FO should have left well enough alone and gotten some pitching.
  10. I saw Miller hit one over the right field fence last week in an inter squad game of the low A vs. High A players, He hit it from the left side. I'm glad you ranked Miller in the top 5, plus you gave Miller and Martin the only two 60 ratings for future hitting. This means Miller and martin are the two best prospects as far as future hitting is concerned, I think. Although I do not disagree, I wonder why Miller ranked so high at such a young age. Fun article, although I would have put Miranda #1, but I understand that others would pick Martin. It is a shame Lewis is not in the top 5, but I have to agree he is not a top 5 prospect in this ranking.
  11. Man, looking at it this way, you could also add giving up K-F for Gio. I'd rather have K-F over Gio any day. This is disturbing. I'm glad the Twins got rid of Donaldson, who never should have been signed in the first place, but now the FO is compounding its mistakes. This has been a heavy price to pay in order to accomplish getting rid of Donaldson, who many posters liked as a productive 3B. I personally did not want to give up Petty for Gray, but I do understand the logic behind that trade. I have come to the conclusion that he Twins should have signed Story without losing Garver and Rortvedt, and could have traded Donaldson for some prospects and possibly paid some of the high contract money, which the FO obligated itself to pay when it signed Donaldson.
  12. Nick, I agree 100% with your article about this fluid situation which the Twins FO has created. Trading Donaldson was a necessary salary dump. Even though Donaldson had some good numbers, I feel there was more going on. I also feel the Yankees were looking for a trade to part ways with Sanchez. I feel that the 2022 Yankee dugout will provide plenty of fodder for the NY and national sports reporters. In fact, this would be a wonderful season to be writing a "tell-all" book about this 2022 Yankee team. It should be a dramatic season in the Bronx, if one likes middle school drama, which I don't.
  13. Don't under estimate Chris Williams. He may be one of the at least 3 catchers which will be necessary for the Twins, even assuming there are no serious catcher injuries this season.
  14. Rain, rain go away, Jose Miranda wants to play.
  15. We will never know what we lost by signing him, but it was still a mistake, and not just because of his calf problems. I was not a fan of Donaldson before the Twins signed him. I don't like his style of play.
  16. Catching takes a toll on a players legs. just look at Donaldson, who came to the majors as a catcher. I was against signing Donaldson when he was signed. This salary dump of Donaldson is Falvine's doing, because he signed Donaldson in the first place. I told you so, when Donaldson was signed.
  17. Doc, you hit the nail on the head for me. Heart vs. Head. Just several days ago I was raving about Petty on this website, after I had watched him pitch in practice at Fort Myers . He looked dominant. Velocity, control and an incredible slider. But on the other hand, at my age, I need to shift to a win now focus anyway. For me Heart vs. Head also applies to the Garver trade. Garver was a favorite of mine, as were Berrios and Cruz. However I understood the Cruz trade, but not Berrios's trade. I know we got good prospects in both of those trades, but Berrios is what the Twins needed today and tomorrow. I wanted him to be a career Twin. Berrios' work ethic and success were outstanding and bode well for his future success. Anyhow, such is life in the business of baseball. Doc, your post helped me get calm after being so upset when I first read this Petty/Gray news. My wife asked me who died.? She said that all who read my posts would feel my anger since I was pounding the keys on my laptop so hard as I wrote my angry replies. I feel a lot better now. Thanks Doc. Head vs. Heart.
