  1. All in all, I feel pretty fulfilled, Nick. The starters have been outstanding. Rocco is learning which relievers he can use where. The hitters will start hitting better as the weather warms up. The defense has been more than adequate, with Gordon and Jeffers providing recent outstanding defensive play.. Correa's defense has been as advertised and Sanchez has been not near as bad as advertised. I feel we are in for many "fulfilling"" games in the future.
  2. If that premise were true, the best pitchers would all be made relievers.
  3. The Twins are in the same league as the White Sox...the American League.
  4. I'm glad the Twins did not take this position when Johan Santana was a Twins reliever. To me a starter is twice as valuable as a reliever due to the possibility of a starter getting twice the innings as a reliever each year.
  5. I'm in my happy place when only one run gives the Twins a victory. It was a beautiful game to me. I love a low scoring victory with good defense and no Twins thrown out at home.
  6. Even though the Twinkies record is 5 and 8 and the Pale Hose record is 6 and 6, they each have -8 run differentials. A few runs here and there and the Twins would be at .500. I think Rocco needs a little time to see what he's got, due to so many changes in the roster. I am optimistic about this Twins team. The Yankee trade looks better every day that Donaldson, Sanchez and Gio play and every month when the paychecks are direct deposited. The Cruz trade for the rookie Ace of the Twins staff was a steal for the Twins. I do miss Berrios, but I wonder if there was more going between Berrios and the Twins than any of us posters and writers know about? I am still disappointed that the Twins traded Chase Petty. I think he will be a special pitcher. I like Sonny Gray, but I would not have traded Petty away., By the way, the Guardians have a + 25 run differential, but are opening a series against the Evil Empire featuring the Yankees MVP, team leader at 3B. I don't know who to pull for in this matchup. Correa is a dream to watch play SS. He will eventually hit his average and with some moderate power. Have you been noticing Woods-Richardson in AA? And Royce Lewis in AAA? All things considered, I am very optimistic.
  7. Dear Editor: I was looking at the fabulous Tiger shirt that prospect John Stankiewitz is wearing in his picture and I wanted to ask a question. Is he married? Sincerely, Carole Baskin
  8. I guess I should be more careful to read the posts in the correct order. I understood what you meant the first time. I even entered a post saying so, before I read this post.
  9. Seth, I may be mistaken, but I believe Major League ready meant that this weeks report contained so many outstanding hitting and pitching performances that it would be good to see these very impressive figures every week. Seth, I sincerely appreciate all the work that goes into these minor league reports and your zoom interviews with the prospects.
  10. That is the correct prescription for what ails the Twins Doc.
  11. And if he must play, where does he bat in the lineup? Following the premise that he must play to get out of the slump, then bat him first so he will get more at bats and get out of the slump more quickly. Nope, that is just ridiculous. The best scenario may be an injury which requires a minor league rehab, where he can work on his timing and not cost the Twins games. Sano reminds me of the old definition of a man being in an average temperature when he has one leg in a 35 degree bucket of ice and the other leg in a 125 degree bucket of hot water. It averages out to be 80 degrees, but is very uncomfortable.
  12. Well written, positive article. Thanks, I needed that.
  13. I am making a conscious effort to have no lasting impressions of these two games.
  14. Turning off the game after seeing the Dodgers players laughing and joking in the dugout in the 7th inning.
  15. It is still throw the ball, hit the ball, catch the ball.
