  1. I enjoyed reading your weekly summation so much, that I read it twice. Thanks.
  2. Plus a line drive out to the SS which was hit hard, but right at the SS.
  3. As I read this article, I was really impressed with the 4 honorable mention pitchers. I thought, "How can these 4 not be in the top six pitchers?" Then I read the stats for the top six pitchers. Awesome !
  4. "Dreaded trip to Yankee Stadium" ? This year I'm looking forward to it.
  5. In a radio interview Martin Perez said his favorite player growing up was fellow Venezuelan, lefty Johan Santana. Good choice Martin.
  6. How does Sean Poppen allowing 1 earned run over 5 innings, "drop" his ERA to ..75 ? Allowing 1 earned run over 5 innings pitched is an ERA of 1.80, which could not lower an ERA to .75, could it? Just asking.
  7. Two thousandths of a percentage point from having the best record in all of major league baseball. One day at a time. That's why today is called the "present". It is a gift.
  8. There are times in every game, when the game is on the line. That time last night was when the Mets' pitcher was coming to bat...and again when he was walked, loading the bases. Why not put the best lefty reliever in the AL in to pitch to a left-handed hitted at that critical point...that game changing point? Rogers was well rested and has no game today. Why not put your best reliever in at the game's critical point?
  9. Wow...What encouraging starts to a minor league season for the Twins minor league pitchers. I really do enjoy reading about these minor league players. Only here at TD can this be done. This is an awesome website which is made possible by some dedicated, talented writers, who seem to be genuinely nice people. Thanks TD staff and writers!
  10. The Twins did pretty well considering there was no place for Cruz to play except to pinch hit. The big question is how will the Twins solve this problem when playing at the National League park in the World Series this season?.
  11. Plus the 4th ball on the walk was in the strike zone., Rogers kept his composure and competed. Great pitching
  12. The Phillies are not a litmus test because the Twins will be playing without the DH, which the Twins will be able to use 95% of the time the rest of the season. This weakens the Twinkies' lineup, no matter whether Cruz plays or not against the Phillies. In summation 4-1 is better than 1-4. And that's all I've got to say about that.
  13. I'd put that southpaw the Twins just got from the Mets, Sidd Finch in the top 10 on this list. I read he was consistently over 100 mph with his pitches, but is a bit eccentric and has been out of baseball a while, before coming back around the first of April this year.
  14. I am really high on Severino. He mashed some baseballs at Elizabethton last summer. Pound for pound, he may have as much power as anyone...and he is still growing. I would move him to the top ten. Also I was very impressed with Raley at ST. He is as strong as a bull and can hit the ball a long way. Plus he is a good, fast outfielder. I wonder how many of these prospects will actually play meaningful games for the Twins? We shall see. Thanks for your article. I really enjoyed reading it. Play ball !
