  1. I could only see signing a decent new if he is not getting much interest in the market and then of course flip in July for prospects. Kind of like Atlanta has done lately.
  2. How about not worrying about the 9th inning and focus on innings 1-7. Having a shut down closer like Chapman is a waste if you cannot get him the ball with the lead. I am aware the market is thin for starters this year but please set it up where the Twins could be better in 2-3 years.
  3. I would have like to see the Twins get Jason McLeod. I hope this was a bring in the best candidate for the job or that he was the cheapest to hire on the short list of candidates. These are the few jobs where over paying to get the best is never a bad thing. They control our beloved Minnesota Twins future. I can't wait for 2019 to start winning divisions again.
  4. No need to fire a manager who would have most likely walked away having just one more year under his current deal. Star Tribune putting out things like that I would make them fire me if I was Molitor. Ever wonder why all big names mentioned so far have declined the GM & President of baseball operations? The Twins are too cheap to spend the money to win. There could have been a small chance that Joe Madden would have chose the manager position if they put up the money. Talking about chasing a few of the Cubs front office exec's makes me laugh. Chicago will put up the money to keep them. The Pohlad boys don't want to spend dad's money. The apple never falls far from the tree.
  5. That played bothered me as well. I would paid anything to see a manager pull an outfielder out of a game when they make a bad decision like that throw. It would be a wake up call to all to quit making poor decisions. The Twins are playing for nothing so why not send a message.
  6. If they are the right people for the positions this organization better not play the cheap route.
  7. Just curious what changed with Byron Buxton. I know September baseball is not as competitive if teams are out of the playoff race. But it sure is nice to see him finally playing well and hopefully gaining confidence for next year.
  8. Would calling up any of these players start their service time and would that effect a year of options by recalling them?
  9. Not very detailed about the minor leaguers who need to be added. Why Randy Rosario & Yorman Landa are on 40 man blows my mind.
  10. I was curious who are the top players that need to be added to the 40 man roster this off season so we don't lose them in the Rule 5 draft. There seem to be quite a few players that could be removed from the current roster that may go unclaimed so the Twins should have a few more spots free.
  11. Fire everyone and bring back Molitor as hitting coach...
  12. This is the type of thing the Twins should be doing if another player like Santana is placed on waivers claim em. When I saw Carlos Ruiz cleared waivers I was shocked the Twins didn't put a claim in for him. Around $6.5M for rest of year and next year for a solid veteran catcher to pair up with Garver next season.
  13. Where did you see this about ESPN talking about Park?
  14. Just makes you wonder why they didn't have this addressed months ago when they talked about a potential injury. Makes you hopeful for next year though. Get healthy and crush some more bombs at Target Field.
  15. Pohlad's would never sell, they are raking in cash like crazy still even with attendance down. So no need to sell when it will never stop flowing.
  16. Just curious why there has been no announcement if Kurt Suzuki cleared the 48 hour waivers yet. It was posted on August 13th 5:46 PM on MLB trade rumors so the time should be up. No word from any site so far so maybe a deal is in the works.
  17. Knowing the Twins they would not want to give a player service time just sitting on the bench. It is a nice way to reward a player with a September call up. The player also likes that little chunk of change for being on the active roster.
  18. Something like Tommy + Milone = DFA. I was gonna start a topic but you beat me to it.Just time to rip the band-aid off and move on. Absolutely zero chance he is offered arbitration so let's see what we can do the last couple of months with try outs from Rochester.
  19. To me, the big crunch is 1B/DH. What if Park starts to get it together? Is there room for he, Mauer and Vargas in 2017? Two in the lineup most days, one on the bench in reserve. But that would force you to carry only one utility guy. Not sure I'm crazy about that. Well that's where the trade from your strength to fill another hole comes to play. Just feel like Boston would like to give another cast off a try if the Twins sour on Vargas. Not sure what I did there tried to use part of DocBauer's post.
  20. What about Pat Light? I feel he must be in the top 20 at least and not even in the honorable mentioned. But who are we to judge, we would never try to make a list on our own. Your list is good and some players just get forgotten. I guess you could remove the crossed out Alex Meyer and place Pat Light there and it would fit.
  21. The sad part is most prospects the Twins draft take almost 6 years to develop, even college players. My thought is the Twins are too scared if they bring them up too early it might ruin them. Hopefully Buxton is not that case.
  22. trading Santana would have been a huge mistake if you would look at the free agent market for this winter.
  23. So this is a sad year for the Twins signing international players. They spent money like they went crazy last year and got fined for over spending. Well this thread is dead now that is buried in an old post it was related to.
  24. I was curious if the Twins have signed any players from the international draft since July 2nd. I cannot recall hearing of any signings but could have missed something.
