  1. What about the offense production? No way Polanco is going to hit for the power numbers Dozier has put up as a Twin.
  2. I don't know why Brian Dozier's agent would be involved in trade talks. Dozier is under contract for 2 more years and it would make zero sense that his agent would have anything to do with a trade. There is not a no trade clause or anything that would involve an agent in the trade talks.
  3. Also, if they would sign him then both Park & Vargas would be in Rochester unless they are dealt.
  4. Not to be the dealer of bad news, those stats are against Twins pitching...
  5. NO! The Twins are in no way close to contenting that they would even bother talking to his agent. The Twins are just one of the teams in the AL that have their 1st round pick protected.
  6. isn't that what you would call a smoke screen? why would the Yankee's want to tell everyone they are interested and drive up the price if they were "in" on Dozier? If NYY are smart they would say any leaks that we discussed Dozier means they are out. Is it just me or does this smell of the Yohan Santana trade talks back when we kept hearing all these big names from Boston & the Yankees being tossed around only to walk away and the Mets came in and made a deal.
  7. I beg to differ, the Twins don't have to trade Dozier buy right now he will have his highest trade value. Dodgers could just add a player like Brandon Phillips for a fraction of the price. The Twins need to start a rebuild this off season and sadly Dozier has the best value in return.
  8. I mean with Granite on the 40 man there is no need to have both Santana & Grossman. I would remove Danny Santana from the 40 man roster. He will get claimed and then go through the process a few times and end up in some teams minor league system.
  9. Why did they stop there? Randy Rosario and one of either Danny Santana or Robbie Grossman could be cut as well for starters. Let them start fresh and move out these players to free up more 40 man spots.
  10. Perfect division and maybe best fit in Baltimore to have a chance to play.
  11. They need to completely rework the way this process works. Teams will claim a player and hold onto him for a bit and then try to sneak him through. They should have to hold a player on the 40 man for 15-20 days so teams can't play the system.
  12. I was thinking they were gonna bring him in to either play short, starting pitcher, or make him into a closer. Not sure which of the 3 they have in mind.
  13. Nick Punto is going to be hired as base running coach to teach all hitters including Sano to slide head first into 1st base.
  14. Trade Dozier this winter. It is almost impossible for him to have a higher trade value than right now. If he keeps performing at the same high level for the next 2 years the Twins will not be able to afford him so sell high while you can. You know with the luck the Twins have he will have a slow start and then be under such pressure to perform and end up having an average to poor year. Package him up in a blockbuster deal and let the real rebuilding begin.
  15. It is a good signing if you plan on contending soon. Does anyone see this team contending in 3 years? I am a dire hard fan but I don't see this turning around that soon.
  16. For a team that is clearly rebuilding is this smart to sign a catcher for this type of money over 3 years? Wouldn't you think Mitch Garver should be ready to take over in 2018 at least if not sooner?
  17. Be optimistic people, this is sort of how the Cubs were built with all the high draft picks. Oh wait, the Twins have been picking near the top for some time so our time should be near...
  18. Holy crap this is gonna be a real challenge for Trevor May. Trying to become a lefty now? Can this club ask for more out of him than that?>
  19. 3rd base, 1st base & DH are a complete disaster with what the Twins have to work with. Sano & Park look to be full time DH's, Mauer has 1st base held down because of his contract. I can see a team waiting to pounce on the chance to give Vargas a change of scenery and an actual hitting coach and turn him into a solid player. I am not sure how this will all shake out and can clearly say I would not wish this mess onto anyone. Good luck and let's hope for the best.
  20. Luke Hochevar would be a great target for the Twins to sign. He puts up a good year and you have a nice trade piece that could bring back a nice prospect. This should be something the Twins should be looking at to rebuild the system.
  21. i would think only names to chase are possible value plays like Luke Hochevar & Travis Wood. If anything sign some middle of the pack players you can get and flip at trade deadline to rebuild.
  22. Be ready to kiss your thread goodbye. It will get devoured into a thread by a Mod. Congrats on reporting it first.
  23. It's about time they at least thought about doing this to help small market teams compete to sign international players. My only concern is that this draft will not include Asian player that go through the posting system. If they are not included you will start seeing Latin American prospects trying to play in Japan or Korea to then be eligible to become posted to try to get more money.
  24. So how many more could be removed that would not make people pause.
