  1. I would love to see the Twins bring in Rajai Davis to play left field and back up Buxton in center. It would be nice to add some needed speed back into this lineup. Let Eddie Rosario & Robbie Grossman battle it out for the 4th outfielder spot.
  2. Urias threw over 122 innings last year and never came close to breaking 100 innings in his short career. For people thinking he is going to be #2 behind Kershaw are going to be wrong. The Dodgers are going to have to get very creative to limit his innings to keep him around 150 or so innings. I am not saying he does not have the talent to become great but he has been babied so far and who knows how he will react to getting pushed.
  3. Kinsler will not waive his no trade clause without getting a couple years added on to his current deal. He will also be 35 this upcoming year and teams are finally waking up and using some common sense when it comes to contract length to players in their mid 30's. If JDL and Alvarez are on the table beg for a small 3rd piece and get it done!
  4. If the prospects are putting up good numbers in the minors they will either maintain or boost their value. Dozier would need to go bananas to have a higher value than right now. Also, there are only a few teams now that need a 2nd baseman. The season starts the Dodgers will have either made a different trade or stayed in house. Must trade now to get peak value.
  5. Sell tickets? Now that is priceless! So if the Twins keep Dozier they still won't crack 2 million. This team needs more than 1 star to bring up attendance. It will be another rough year but if they get lucky in a trade they could get a few more pieces to help.
  6. Heard an interesting rumor the other day about Boston considering signing Trevor Plouffe to a 1 year deal for $2-3M and use him as a utility role. Sounds pretty cheap for a decent veteran who can fill in at 1st or 3rd and you could throw him in the outfield if you had no bench players left. There could be a few more teams that could use him at that price.
  7. If the Cards were/are in on a Dozier deal of course they would deny it. Why would they want to start a possible bidding war. There is nothing saying that the Cards don't come to the Twins and put a nice in front of the Twins and say this is the offer, 5 minutes to accept or we walk away so the Twins can't try to get a counter offer from the Dodgers.
  8. So if there is no clear cut #1 in this draft did they change it where if you can't sign your pick the Twins would get the #2 pick in the following years draft?
  9. The Cards would like to dump him on the Twins in a Dozier deal. Maybe a change of scenery could turn him around.
  10. Wong wouldn't bring back De Leon if the Dodgers had any interest in Wong.
  11. May as well lock up the thread because I highly doubt either team will be talking until after the new year.
  12. You have to almost laugh when a players on field antics take teams out of the running to sign him. Baltimore could have been a possibility but the fans hate him so much ownership would not touch him. And the there is Texas, he would get knocked out on a daily basis by his own teammate in Rougned Odor. Pretty sad when it comes to the point when a player can't get a team to bite on him. No team wants to give up a draft pick for a 1 year deal unless the money drops. He will be back in Toronto.
  13. He would take the first $20M offer thrown his way.
  14. Trade Dozier, sign Rajai Davis, and Trevor Cahill. That would be a great couple of moves for not a ton of money.
  15. Looks like Cleveland just made a nice addition in signing Edwin Encarnacion to a 3 year deal with an option. 3 years $65M. Kind of surpised there was no opt out after 1 season.
  16. I hope that is not what we have to look forward to at a few of the positions. Sano will be the DH by 2019 and if Eddie Rosario doesn't bounce back in 2017 I am not sure if it's not time to move on.
  17. The Pirates would move McCutchen because he still has some value and they would free up money as well. It would also free up a spot for Austin Meadows the #9 prospect in the minors. It is called retooling and not rebuilding and would make them a better team as well.
  18. The one team not mentioned that could turn into a sleeper to sneak into the Dozier sweepstakes could be the Pirates. Deal Andrew McCutchen to the Mets for prospects which could allow to move Josh Harrison back into a super utility role which he already has done in the past. The deal would be great for Pittsburgh to free up some more money by dealing McCutchen and giving one of their top prospects Austin Meadows a spot in center field. The Pirates could either flip a prospect from the Mets deal along with a few of their own to land Dozier. Just a thought since they have 5 prospects in the top 75 list.
  19. This reminds me of the Santana trade all over again. I felt the Twins possibly felt pressured into having Carlos Gomez in the majors right away to show that they got a major leaguer back in the deal. Gomez was so raw and desperately needed more time in the majors before being called up. The Mets were notorious for rushing prospects to the majors and hopefully the Twins make the right decisions in whoever they get in return in a possible Brian Dozier deal.
  20. Can we all be serious for a moment. The Twins will lose 90+ games in 2017 with or without Brian Dozier. I hope they keep up the patience and get the pieces they feel are what they demand in return from LA. I also would like to see a little game of chicken and give LA a deadline of tomorrow 3 pm and if a deal is not reached they will come back to the table on January 9th. Maybe a mystery team might try and steal Dozier away (Yankees).
  21. Has Ross Stripling ever been brought up at all?
  22. My thoughts are if this is not resolved by Wednesday afternoon stick a fork in it until January 9th or so. With holidays both teams are going to finally agree to pick this up at a later date. My thoughts are that the Twins keep trying to push for Bellinger to be in the deal and get shot right down. Or they are trying to get Buehler/Lux as a 3rd piece and get shot down. I would think LA is holding out and demanding only 1 of the top 10 prospects be in the deal with 3 other lesser parts included.
  23. The future is always bright when you get close to rock bottom. Sorry, I only have faith in Ervin Santana in this rotation.
  24. 2018 he will become full time DH.
  25. The defense is one of the biggest holes on the team. Hopefully Sano can quit rushing some of his throws for starters.
