  1. I was about to make a sort of similar post to this in a way. My question is what do the Twins have in the minors that could bring in a Sonny Gray type of pitcher? I would like to somehow put Eddie Rosario as part of any deal. Good defender with a strong arm but the plate discipline just drives me crazy.
  2. The only problem with promoting all of them trying to find one that sticks is you need roster spots for them on the 40 man roster. Sure there are a few on there now that could be set free but only so much wiggle room to work with.
  3. So are you saying Hicks is a superstar now? Look up and find out when Joe Mauer signed this horrible extension and get back to me if you want something to be upset about.
  4. When do the St Paul Saints start so people who loved Danny Santana can go watch him play in the near future?
  5. Just DFA him already. The team would be better off without him. Mauer doesn't bring any leadership to the team and you still pay him either way. It would just like ripping off a band aid. It might hurt for a second but you will feel better when he is gone.
  6. If they could save $1.5M+ it could be worth it to use that money to be able to overpay on a later pick. It would be nice if the Twins could pull something off like Houston did when they passed on Buxton to pick Carlos Correa & had extra money to pick up Lance McCullers Jr as well.
  7. Come someone please send the picture of Tommy Watkins keeping his eyes on the ball to Byron Buxton so he can remember how it works.
  8. So if Kepler is Buxton's replacement, who is gonna replace Kepler in right?
  9. You might be on the right track if Gibson can't get his stuff together as a starter.
  10. I have never been a huge Brandon Kintzler fan as a closer and would rather see him in a 7th inning role. Tyler Duffy closed in college and could be better suited as the new closer over trying to stretch him out to go back to starting.
  11. Not a huge Hughes fan even though he pitched great tonight. As for Berrios, he needs to earn the promotion once again. I would be worried more about Mejia.
  12. I sure hope this gets a second look before they put in the next one. I can only say I agree with just 1 of the 9 choices and that would Eddie Rosario at the bottom. He needs to earn his way out of the 9 hole. Not sure what pitchers are out of options but someone needs to go so they don't basically have a 2 man bench. Your back up catcher has to be held back in case of injury. I know they just won a game but with this 25 man roster it's gonna be a really long year.
  13. A better April fools prank would have been either another Mauer contract extension. Talk about outrage if it would happen.
  14. Or maybe Jimmy Rollins over Danny Santana. It would bring the veteran leadership the team needs since Mauer has no ability to be a leader at all.
  15. No interest in any of those pitchers. All will demand a minimum of 5 years and you have to be careful of their ages near the end and the possible opt out in a contract. Let's just wait for 2018 offseason when Joe Mauer is finally off the books to think about spending money on an aging pitcher.
  16. Not gonna waste my time with all these made up stats. Brian Dozier is going to be a victim of his own success. Let's face the facts if he can hit at least 25-30 hr it should be viewed as a great year for a 2b. Sad part will be everyone will say last season was a fluke. Dozier has steadily increased his HR production over the last few years. The thing is nobody will say anything at all if he goes out and either matches or exceeds 42 HR in 2017. All you read is he can't do it. All the stat loving haters will jump out to say they were right but nobody will say the were wrong if he repeats.
  17. Most likely if the Twins sign a player like Blanton they would have to overpay or give a 2nd year. Not sure why Matt Wieters doesn't cut ties with Scott Boras. Teams don't want to deal with him on a player that is not top shelf.
  18. That is the one part of the game that I really hate and forgot about. That would speed up the game big time. It could cut a nice chunk of time out of the game.
  19. What a joke! I hate to say it but how many pitchers have the Pirates turned around and made them into quality arms? Of course, not every time will it work but Pat Light seemed to have more upside and should have been given a shot.
  20. Wasn't there also talk that a pitcher has to face a minimum of 2 batters as well? Looks like someone is trying to put a bunch of LOOGY's out of work.
  21. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard! I almost had to pull over when I heard them talking about it on MLB radio.
  22. What a surprise! And now I hear the Twins are possibly interested in Pedro Alvarez. Unless it is $3M or less don't waste the time. Not sure it is worth the effort to hope he has a good start to the year so you can flip him for a low prospect. The worst part of all this is that when the Twins were actually competitive they would use every excuse in the world to say they could not afford to add a bat or a pitcher when they division leaders. Makes everyone feel REAL OLD to think back to those good years.
  23. Not sure a team would want to claim him and be on the hook for the $9.75M over 3 years. Released there would some teams for sure for minimum salary without a doubt.
  24. So all this is making my head spin. When will be "officially" know if he has cleared waivers?
  25. Kind of shocking that Breslow could not secure a major league deal. Danny Santana has got to be happy with that fact.
