  1. Who will be the DFA victim if it's a player not on the 40 man roster? So many choices that could get released not sure where to start.
  2. Wouldn't the only thing that would help if the Twins insured his contract & they can prove that he won't be able to pitch again they could get some of the money back from insurance? Hughes would still get all his money and the Twins would get some money to put towards the Sano mountain of money it will take to get a long term deal done for him.
  3. Those 2 pitchers should bring in a very nice haul of San Diego pulls the trigger quickly.
  4. The first deal might look cheap. What do you think happens now when you take away 2 RP's from the trade market? Supply & demand takes over and the over pay happens. Maybe the worst thing for Twins fans falling out of contention could be the greatest thing for the future.
  5. Nice work writing it up. Sadly the only trade that would benefit the Twins is the Neshek deal and Philadelphia wil get way more than that for him with relief pitchers always being a premium at the deadline.
  6. Kyle Gibson or Phil Hughes?
  7. Bartolo Colon will be making his Twins debut on Tuesday. No clue who will be getting sent down or DFA for a roster spot. By the way, feel free to move my post into a new location...
  8. So how many years until his military commitment is complete?
  9. So Zach Granite is not good enough to make the top 100?
  10. Grossman may as well find a mystery injury so he can go on the DL since he should be just a bench player now. No more Grossman as DH please!!!
  11. Twins post game Molitor just announced Zach Granite will be called up. Not sure where he will be finding playing time.
  12. I was curious how many of the Twins draft picks did they manage to sign before the deadline today. Not sure that I noticed a thread lately about who signed so far.
  13. Just curious if Ryan Madson could be a potential trade target to fix the bullpen? Putting up solid numbers & Oakland is always in the trading mood.
  14. Looks like the Twins may have made the right move by signing Royce Lewis to an under slot deal. I do know that Lewis has not officially signed yet but they most certainly came to an agreement after Brandan McKay refused to sign for what they offered. Now on to Blayne Enlow the Twins 3rd round pick. MLB trade rumors has reported that he is expected to sign for $2M, which is 2 1/2 the slot value. He was ranked as high as the 14th best player in the draft. So I am at least happy with 3 of the Twins top picks for sure. Royce Lewis, Blayne Enlow, and Brent Rooker.

    Mauers New Contract

Joe Mauer's next contract will be to become part of the Twins ground crew. Hopefully for Joe that they offer paid time off for his September illnesses that he seems to get lately...
  16. It just means Dozier will be gone when his contract ends and he leaves as a free agent.
  17. If not for Dusty Baker destroying Mark Prior & Kerry Wood's arms/careers the Cube would have won a World Series building around those 2 aces. Joe Mauer was a good pick but if the Twins drafted Mark Prior they would have not rushed him & never would have let him throw so much.
  18. With Boras as his agent how does any team pull off getting a discount? Kind of disappointed that they didn't choose Brendan McKay and make him into 1st basemen of the future.
  19. The best case scenario for the Twins is to take Wright or McKay. If you have looked at some of the mock drafts lately it would be smart for the Twins to sign McKay if he is willing to take a huge discount from the max value offered for the #1 pick. That way the Twins could have more money for their other picks and could come out smelling like a rose in the end.
  20. I hope the Twins make the "right" decision and take Kyle Wright.. Not a fan of taking a high school pitcher who relies heavily on his great fastball. If he doesn't have a 2nd or 3rd plus pitch you never know if he could develop one. The Twins need to be smart and pass on Greene. As for Brendan McKay I would feel the Twins would chose wrong on whether to be a pitcher or hitter.
  21. My opinion is that they DFA John Ryan Murphy. No reason to keep him around and I would be shocked if he got claimed. And if he did, the Twins could always find a replacement. No need to DFA Rucinski.
  22. What would have been the difference trying to fix him in the minors when the Twins are kind of doing the same with Rule 5 pick Justin Haley. Granted Haley is not broken, he is just not ready to actually be in the majors.
  23. I can't believe nobody else has either commented or made a post about the possibility of the Twins making a deal.
  24. Sam Dyson could be a potentially nice gamble for the Twins to help solve some of the bullpen troubles.
  25. It is great to see the Twins finally dipping into double A to bring up Randy Rosario. It's too bad that Nick Burdi had to have surgery or it would have been only time before we saw him in the majors. I am tired being a Twins fan where we always seemed to leave arms in the minors forever before they got a chance. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a revolving door but it is great that we are no going to be afraid to make changes.
