  1. I think you counted some good posts at least twice....
  2. and thanks for the summary! though, I would have checked the phone later....
  3. I'm liking him just fine this year as a legit 4, trending to 3. He won't be an ACE, imo, or even a consistent 2, but he'll be good.
  4. I just passed 20K posts, forgetting I was close and was meaning to post something cool. Y'all will just have to wait 5K more posts (or, about 2 weeks, apparently)....
  5. Damnit, I passed 20K in posts on lame 1 sentence posts!
  6. thanks! IMO, that would make it not really a concern, but I get your concern, I just don't share it.
  7. clipped since we don't need the whole quote...... Agreed, they have not had good luck at all with injuries. I'd just like to see Burdi and Melo in AAA now, as a sign.....I mean, I'd prefer Burdi was here now, but at least promote them.
  8. They need starter depth. I don't think moving Meija to the pen is even an option right now. Don't forget, even with Berrios in the rotation, Nick Tepesch is your 5th starter right now....
  9. I think Shopify just introduced a square competitor.....or maybe not, it might only be for their PoS system now that I think about it. btw, that Shopify website? I'll be mining it to help my wife's small business. It has a ton of advice for small business. Brock, congrats on the good month. With your ability to write off gas/food/etc, you are probably not paying taxes, but making cash flow. Perfect! I still think there is a market for you on DDMGuild.....
  10. Why would that be odd? Most people don't know what the future holds for a team, and a lot of the ticket numbers are based on season ticket sales which happen before the season starts. I would think it would be odd if ticket sales weren't driven on last year's performance. Most fans don't come here, or even read the sports' pages....
  11. They drafted the best college hitters, there isn't a college hitter ranked anywhere near that highly this year. They traded for Addison Russell and Jake Arrieta and others. The Twins did not trade Santana or Dozier or Kintzler this off season, in an attempt to be patient and build for the future. I think they are not following the Cubs example so far. Indeed, I think they think they can compete this year/next year, not in 3-4 years.
  12. Of course, the Sox admitted they are rebuilding, and began the process just this year. I'd expect the Twins to be further ahead this year, wouldn't you? The big mistake was not dealing Quintana also, apparently.
  13. Three years is patience? The Twins are going to sign a John Lester level FA? This FO has made no trades, and did not sign guys in the off season that could be flipped if they worked out and the team did not, unless you think Haley = Arrieta. They basically did the opposite of what the Cubs did so far.
  14. I thought my post was about RPs..... And yes, so far, I'm thrilled that they have not held onto SPs too long....assuming Hughes isn't what he was last night, and it's not too long already (which I don't think it is, yet).
  15. i think you missed the point of that post, widely........
  16. Not sure that's what I'd call last night.....here's hoping it gets better. I liked the original signing a lot, just the kind of guy you take a chance on.....and he seems like a good guy.
  17. Wait, as we use more and more math, we get smarter over time? Who knew?
  18. I prefer what Baltimore and Pittsburgh are doing, having 4-7 guys with options that can be used, sent down to rest, and called back up, to retreads that the team shouldn't even have on the roster. The Twins have no flexibility in this bullpen right now because they are signing guys in their 30s. Have the Twins done that? Have they sent guys up and down (Breslow, Belisle are still here.....). Which guys have they called up as fungible assets?
  19. Burdi has been injured over and over. he should be in AAA or MN, before he gets hurt again. IMO, of course.
  20. he saw Belisle and Breslow as good RPs too, right? I mean, RPs matter, right? A LOT of the posts here are about passing over Twin's prospects, not just about Berrios.
