  1. Which is why I argue to call them up earlier, as you know....
  2. Jacque Jones 4:03 What are your thoughts on Nick Gordon after some time in the minors, compared to at draft time, etc? Should Twins fans be excited? Keith Law 4:03 Yes. He's a damn good player. He'll produce, and he'll be one of those players you want to argue is worth even more than the stats say.
  3. True. I just think people keep forgetting he isn't young, and it can't go forever. I'm not saying I'd deal him for anyone, and I don't think I trade him off if they are still in first, but the future goes past 2018/9....
  4. We don't agree on ESan, he's in his mid 30s.....it will fall off.
  5. And Santana will be older. Agreed, figure out what you might have.
  6. Listing anecdotes w/o looking at other teams does what? Clearly limiting pitch counts for RPs doesn't work, since the Twins have lots of injured minor league RPs......
  7. do they? I mean, I literally have no idea what injury rates are by team, compared to other teams.
  8. I agree, that's his most likely outcome, but I'd certainly be willing to see if he can start for now.
  9. didn't you just agree with me, in the post above this? Maybe A LOT was an exaggeration....maybe.
  10. From whom? When? All I read is that scouts think he can stay there, not be elite, but be good.
  11. Deep, but lacking high upside. That's what we've been reading all year, and with the dropoff of RPs' health, it's even more true.
  12. That would be a huge jump up the lists. I'm going with around 25 or so, which is still a HUGE jump.
  13. Why? For me, I want the best one available to pitch when most needed, not when they need a "save". That, to me, is probably Duffey. Plus, I think he's more suited to go more than 3 outs... So, why do people want to switch them?
  14. Long man? Those guys rarely play (well, maybe in MN they do). Keep him in AA until August, then bullpen in August and September, then rotation next year. That, imo, should be the plan.
  15. That is not a sexy top 5, imo. Kiriloff hasn't played, and Diaz is a DH, maybe 1B. I do love Gordon, have since HS. And, one has to feel good about Gonsalves, but I'm not sure he's more than a 3 or 4. Unless they pick Pavin Smith, their first round pick this year will either be number 1 or 2 on this list the day he is picked. I'm hopeful that's Wright, and that they are aggressive with him.
  16. I have no issue with moving Hughes to the bullpen. I'd have Romero in the bullpen after the break, or in August. It's what the Cardinals would do. Get him acclimated some this year, w/o blowing thru a ton of innings. Then make him a starter next year. Trading any prospect for 1 bullpen arm right now is, imo, stupid. They are not good enough to be giving up the future. If they want to go get a legit starter and 2 bullpen arms, go for it. But trading for any RP at this point seems like folly and a bad use of assets. I'd rather they start calling up 1-2 young guys at a time, give them legit shots, and see what happens. And, Kintzler is the perfect "closer". Not the best arm they have, but good enough to get "saves".
  17. I'd be surprised if ANY team had guys ranked "low" that profiled as a 1 or 2.....if they profile that way, they would be ranked high!
