  1. I admit to not knowing the list of 100 some SPs that might be available in other minor league systems. And, I'm not thinking only about next year. I'm thinking the next 4-7 years.
  2. Which of these would be available, and better than Santiago? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/08/2017-18-mlb-free-agent-list.html
  3. Nope. It's all on the FO insisting on signing old, bad, pitchers (and injuries). Molitor can only pitch the guys he's given. He doesn't always us them they way I would, but you can't pitch the same 3-4 guys every single day. But, right now, they have legit prospects that are healthy thru June. How about calling up even 1 of them....
  4. 1. The coverage here has been amazing. I doubt there is another site on the web this good (for 1 team). Thank you all. 2. Taking a "soft tossing" SP would really annoy me. 3. I want upside more than anything else, so I go Greene or Gore. 4. I don't see them getting shots at ACE types in FA, like the Cubs or other teams, so i don't think they can ignore pitching early as a strategy. 5. I would be good with Greene, Gore, Wright. 6. I would be less good with others. 7. 7 teams have at least 1 more pick before the Twins, and the spreads aren't as big as previous years. So, I don't think saving money to get a guy to drop is as easy this year.
  5. These are the RPs this FO keeps picking, over other options.
  6. Based on that, how do you propose fixing the pitching next year, if you won't trade Santana or Dozier or anyone else? Because, they aren't signing a good FA next year.
  7. which is why you call him up in a year you aren't a real contender, to get him exposure. Going to count on Gonsalves or anyone else next year from AA? Get them up this year to get a taste. Otherwise, you think they'll go with 2 rookies?
  8. Fans care about winning. If they make a good trade, and the team wins, no one will care they are gone.
  9. He's too good to trade, but the return would not be good.... Either try to win, or trade veterans. This half way stuff does not work. They are one of the worst pitching staff in baseball. This is another smoke and mirrors season. As pointed out, the Yankees were smart enough to trade off players last year. As for why someone would trade for him if he might tail off, the assumption would be they are playing for this year.
  10. Have you looked at the free agent class?
  11. I still don't understand why s high school player is signing under slot especially a boras client. I would be good with him as the pick.
  12. So, he is just going to defy aging? Not trading him until he has no value, while the team isn't in the playoffs, is how teams extend rebuilding longer.
  13. Brave man, sir. I'd endorse that, if I knew anything about the players. Knowing what I know, I like the idea of the HS pitchers at 35 and 7..... I also love the Schwartz pick. It's like picking up a former top prospect that flamed out in the minors, only earlier. Dude was a top 10 pick after his freshman year.....
  14. They do. And it is a bummer for them when he is wrong. side trek: I still can't figure out why Appel can't pitch. He had it ALL in college.
  15. Seriously? Being wrong sometimes makes you greedy or bad at your job? You really think his agency only represents or helps the elite?
  16. Three teams picking a second time before the Twins.... Don't get cute, draft the best player.
  17. I like Wade more than Rosario. No way I am trading him right now. Well, almost no way.
  18. That's probably where I fall, but it depends on any offers.
  19. Well, we maybe have a different sense of humor. Auto corrects happen here A LOT, and people laugh about them occasionally. The reason I found this one that way was, as pointed out, that Seth would NEVER type that about someone. Ever. It was so ridiculously out of character, that it made me laugh. But, as our moderator friend points out, I can see how that could be misconstrued, and it certainly wasn't my intent to offend anyone.
  20. Maybe Seth hasn't been here. And, it was an auto correct, they happen all the time. Also, you can only edit your posts for 1 hour, so it's too late now. No one thinks he's a hoodlum, or bad person, least of all Seth. And, if you think some of us are, I don't know, whatever, you don't know us at all. It was clearly an innocent mistake. Wow. I had hoped that by quoting it, Seth would see that, since you get notified on quotes. Alas, he did not. Again, wow. Judge simple mistakes much?
  21. Let's hope we do after mid-June of this year, that can be up some time next year!
