  1. Gordon. If they draft a guy that isn't better than him, sigh. But, others have said on other threads that those two might be behind Gordon, hence my question.
  2. I asked: If the Twins take McKay or Lewis, will they be the top prospect in MN?
  3. hmmmm.....a few names stick out bad and good there, for me. And one super depressing one.
  4. workload data on college pitchers! http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-workloads-of-2017s-top-draft-prospects/
  5. game threads are about half or less on topic, most of the time. Though, when they are playing well, there is more actual baseball talk....other threads mostly stay on topic, btw.
  6. We agree on that last part for sure. Keeping Santana alone doesn't fix the team.
  7. For the Twins....not overall ranking: 1. Wright 2. Gore/Greene . . . 4. McKay . 5. Lewis
  8. I wouldn't take him until round 3 or later, personally.
  9. It's possible that athletes are better, and that the game has changed....
  10. Except the rules are different, and seven teams pick a second time before the Twins....
  11. Number 1. If they aren't number 1, it was a bad draft. the 1:1 pick usually is in the top 25-40 overall in MiLB the day they are picked.
  12. Awful idea to trade a starting SS/2B for the next 7 years for a 1-2 year rental.
  13. so where do you get your 2nd or 3rd pitcher for next year, then?
  14. But that's my point. If 2-3 of those guys are good, and Santana is only good for 1 more year, do you really need Santana at that point? And, if none of them are good next year, then it won't matter if you have Santana or not at that point, imo.
  15. that's a reasonable stance, and it is hard to argue against it. I just don't love the options this year or next, unless Gonsalves and another SP are good, in which case you don't need Santana as much, and Dozier is maybe redundant.
  16. Because I don't think they are good enough next year, unless they can get help from AA. If they can get help from AA, then getting a SP NEXT YEAR for Santana isn't that important anyway, imo. And, Santana won't be good forever, probably. I'd guess he has maybe 1 good year left. After that? HUGE step back for this team, unless the guys they have and trade for are good in 19 and beyond.
  17. Of those 8, some won't really be available, assuming you counted Sale, for example.... but, they'll have to outbid some teams for sure. I just don't see a difference maker there, that will actually be available and signed by this team.
  18. I've never (I don't think) insisted they get someone that would be ready next year, unlike others.
