  1. PM me, of course...
  2. Not nervous yet, but this could be what some of us feared.....not betting on it, but watching it this week.
  3. Not if he takes innings from Burdi or Bard or Melo or anyone else in AA that is a prospect at this point. Again, whether 1 decision makes sense, imo, isn't really the issue. It's all the decisions in context to each other that don't appear to make sense.
  4. Actually, nearly everyone thinks that way. Do you think that Mike Pelfrey was an ace, because he was the Twins' best pitcher one year? A team's number 1 starter is not necessarily even a good pitcher, let alone an ace.
  5. Longenhorn (sp?) did on Fangraphs, I think I put it in the FG thread, let me check... http://twinsdaily.com/topic/22213-fangraphs-and-other-national-publications-on-the-twins/page-84
  6. that's been one of my biggest complaints with the old and new FO.....not using AAA to have a stable of RPs that go up and down. It's why I hated the off season acquisitions of old RPs w/o options.
  7. Having been to other signings, you can almost always bring your own copy. I know KLAW isn't for everyone, but his very public stances on his anxiety disorder, and the importance of us finally talking about and treating mental issues as real diseases is more important than his baseball work. And if you like books, music, or games, his personal site is a treasure trove. Of course, I will be in MN next week, and miss him by days. Sigh.
  8. Because the FO went all old players, mostly w/o options, for the bullpen. It's bad 40 man strategy.
  9. Not seeing much from this new FO that gives me any belief they are ready to promote and trust young players that weren't already on the roster last year. I'm not sure why Burdi isn't in AAA or the majors right now.
  10. So, when you invest in the bullpen, sometimes you have better players. Huh.
  11. Pretty clear hughes id's at best an innings eater now. Alas
  12. I absolutely hate that Kepler is being platooned.
  13. Greg 1:32 Any new draft buzz in the top 5? Eric A Longenhagen 1:35 McKay's velo is down a bit, he's also working on a new cutter. Some people who say those two things are related. The ratio of people who prefer him as a bat is growing, at least among the people I'm talking to. Kyle Wright has been dominant of late and will be #1 on my board on its release. Rest of the top 5 is more or less the same, some combo of Lewis, Gore, Greene.
  14. I still think he's a slightly above average MLB SS for a long time. Not elite, but good. Which is great, that's a very nice player to have. I'd rather Trea Turner was here, and had been for 2 years now, but whatever.
  15. I've been predicting Wright for about a month now. I've also come around, and personally want Wright. But, if they take Greene, Wright, or McKay as a pitcher, I'm good with that.
  16. Well, I'm pretty much banking the wins at this point, and not shifting my expectations for RoS by more than a game or two..... And yes, A LOT rides on Berrios and Santiago at this point (I'm assuming ESan is a 2).
  17. I agree he's not giving the defense enough credit for the run prevention. Also, I think he's underselling that they don't have any/many black holes in the lineup right now. They may only have legit big time player, but most of the players are at or above replacement level. That's a lot better than some other teams. I do generally agree, I don't think they are legit contenders this year. Hopeful they change my mind, but I think they are a 78-81 or so win team now.
  18. Why does Burdi need to be healthy for an extended time? He has options. Bring him up, or move him to AAA while healthy.
  19. Kintzler's arm is going to fall off if Falvey doesn't give Mollie some options
  20. It's about their best lineup. I'd probably switch Joe and Jorge, but I wouldn't necessarily do that.
