    That's certainly possible, do you want to be the coach that completely changes the routine of the 1:1 pick, compared to how you've prepared every other pitcher in your career as a coach?

    They aren't leaving Stewart off teh 40 man. I'll bet any amount of money on that, barring some kind of injury or attitude thing.

    He's not a professional athlete right now. His routine includes college and lots of things that it won't include when this is his job. I'm just repeating what KLAW and others have typed, that pitchers have routines. Question.....if they don't need those routines, why do all the pitchers have the same routine?

    I am tired of winning this kind of useless trade. It is nice, but doesn't move the needle. I hope Danny becomes a good player, but it wasn't working here. Moving on from him is probably good, but it didn't fix any of the real problems.

    Can't imagine we'll see Jay or Gonsavles in MN this year, if they won't pitch in a game until June. That's a real buzzkill.

    disagree. Pitchers have routines on off days, and messing with those routines is not setting McKay up to be the most successful he can be.

    Well, he'd been fairly successful up until now, and is only 22. Why would they have moved him? Way too soon.

    I don't think anyone likes Stewart's "progress". I think people are saying he's still young, and we aren't ready to give up on him as a SP.

    Any actual data on that 9 out of 10 thing? HS guys get PAID in teh major league draft every single year.

    you realize he dominated high A already, right? he's in AA because that's the level where he's met his challenge so far. And, he's only 22.

    Really? Berrios is SUPER young for his advancement. Stewart in AA next year would still be young for the level. If keeping him in AA next year is needed, it is needed. There aren't 10 better SP prospects where you need space in AA and AAA.

    He did give it up. He did not get the third out. Earned runs is also a defective stat, imo.

    Agreed, not matter how good he becomes, it was clearly good scouting.
