    At some point, they need to get some hitters. But then, you know way more about this than me. I'm just a Twins' fan talking about the Braves..... As for the draft, I'd think we spent months talking about the Twins not worrying about anything other than best available plus gaming the system. I assume that's true for the Braves in round 1, so I'm not sure that is the same thing.

    then I misunderstood again! I thought you meant that if a team leaks, just stop talking at that point out of some principle. But, if the price they want is fair, would you still do it?

    why? Why give up on a negotiation if you want the player over that? We see leaks every day, it's part of the game.

    I'm guessing Wade or Granite, personally. It fits their needs, I think. Garver is also likely. I think they want someone close to the majors, given where they are in the process, and I don't think they want more pitchers.

    that sure would make it cheap on teh Twins' side! I like it.

    Agreed. And I'm sure some of the board will cringe at the name, since that's the range of highly variable outcomes and fan favorites.

    I'd add Thorpe and Stewart to that list. Though I don't know how Stewart does it, but his last 6 starts have worked, strikeouts be danged.

    Yes they are. But its a a lot harder to acquire good, long term, assets.

    A hitter. Need to make sure they have 15-20 pitchers on teh roster.

    So many comments about posters and their feeling. So tiresome. So very tiresome. Shoring up the back or middle of the rotation is a good idea, depending on the cost of course. Did I mention how tiresome it is that people have to constantly comment on posters and their feelings, rather than what is happening? We have a whole thread for that.

    One of our members pointed out that if you remove both ends (slaughterer, and slaughterie), they still have a huge issue with run differential. You can't just ignore one of the tails.

    you and I agree on that, I don't have any idea what their plan is!

    then I'm all in. well, maybe. Depends on what their budget is and if this keep them from adding 2 RPs and a good FA Starter next year....then I am not sure.

    wouldn't it be better to just sign a decent pitcher in FA next off season, than get Sammy? IMO, he's not much help this year in terms of making them great again.

    well, ya, but you said you'd give them nothing in return, so not sure how they are getting younger, unless you just mean they'll promote someone, and not add anything to the minors. I wouldn't give up Gonsalves and more, like jim, but I'd certainly give up a few pieces the FO doesn't have a ton of faith in.

    none this year I've had A LOT Less time to pay attn to the minors this year. A lot. that was the past, should have been clear on that, my bad.

    It's an interesting thought. I have no idea if it is a good idea, or a realistic idea. Why would teh Tigers give them away? What do they get out of the deal? Do we think they'll spend that money next year, or is it just saving money? Does anyone have any idea what the ownership a: is; and b: what they want? I don't.

    so, none of the AA pitchers should be in AAA, or AAA is just a waste? Because lots of people were pretty sure 1-2 of them would be promoted by now if they were good the first half of this year. I'm asking, because I am curious.
