  1. "you can't expect them all to be Mike Trout"......or Bellinger, or Machado, or Seager, or about 20 other young players. I'm so tired of "they are young" as an excuse all the time.
  2. So, you think Molitor did nothing wrong? That everyone else was wrong?
  3. Nothing to see here, imo. Other than Astros being awesome.
  4. I don't know how I feel about Grey/Gray/not sure how it is spelled....and no issues! I agree, they need to get at least one legit SP from outside the org. They needed to do that this year also, and didn't (it doesn't appear they even tried). I actually feel one of the AA pitchers can be the other good addition, even if others don't. They'll then need another good SP the following year, if not sooner, as ESan ages. My question was not about him in particular, but "buying" in general, if the SP is here for 3 yearish time.
  5. I actually agree with you, a few small moves works for me. But, if this is the only real move, then, imo, it was a waste. They need a DH and 2 RPs. Either from inside the org, or out.
  6. would you deal Gordon + for Gray or some other cost controlled pitcher (not Archer, Archer isn't being traded).
  7. Not sure why you are trying, good sir. IME, fans don't much care about odds and probabilities.
  8. He wasn't arguing. He tweeted that the Twins should not be buyers. Then he tweeted that this kind of buying makes sense. He tweeted about a lot of teams and what they should do, that's his job. Then when they did something, he followed up. And, lots of people have suggested the Twins trade real prospects for Gray, for example. Lots of people. Especially here and on FG chats and other places.
  9. if this is like Heroes, I may never watch tv again.
  10. I'm not sure he thought they'd do anything major, neither of us thought they would.....but I'd guess he would be opposed to trading top prospects for 1 player. He's not a believer in them being 1 player away this year.
  11. FWIW, Dave Cameron (one of the FG guys), tweeted that while he was in theory opposed to the Twins buying, trading a low level guy for an average pitcher is a good deal (paraphrasing here).
  12. And when you pinch hit for the pitchers, who is doing that with this bench?
  13. I don't care about money at this level at all. To me, one meh move is s bad idea. I hope there are more moves coming. Imo, Garver should be on the roster, especially in NL parks. Oh well.
  14. Garver should be up before the NL games start. He can hit, and has positional flexibility. Perfect guy for NL rules. Of course, they are calling up another RP instead.
  15. If it is the only move, not a fan. The team needs more work than one trade provides. If one in a series, cool.
  16. So, 0 fer 2 on trades, at least. Let me know when they actually do something that makes the team better.
  17. what does an average pitcher cost? And, if you are upgrading from colon or Turley or Wilk or ????....average is a huge upgrade.
  18. In this thread, I pointed out options.... http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26829-starting-pitchers/
  19. I can understand that stance. I'm really on the fence, like I said. No more 1 move moves.....either really try, or don't really try. But don't give up part of the future JUST for Garcia. If you make one move, you better make 2-4 moves.
  20. not over a couple million dollars. Prospect going back? sure/maybe. but a couple million dollars? What's the real risk here, if it is a 10-15th ranked prospect and a few million dollars, vs a 12-17th ranked prospect and couple million less? either they want him, and think he can help, or they don't think he can help.
