    I don't think we'll see Gordon this year. Gonna keep that year of control. We might see him next June, unless there is a trade. Even then, I think we'll not see him until May/June of next year.

    Fangraphs had all three players the A's got in the top 100 before the season. If you think even 1 recovers from their injury, and Mateo becomes a legit CF (think Royce Lewis here, Mateo has an OPS over .900 in AA as a SS).....it's an awesome trade for Gray. I think people are underestimating the return some...

    So, the answer is don't fill any pitching holes? This attitude that if you can't fix the whole thing, you shouldn't fix one hole is odd to me.

    well, they also just traded Garcia, and people are probably factoring that in. Or, "excited" is the wrong word, but are less so now.

    they ate payroll in the arbitrage deal for and then sending away Garcia. This isn't about money at all, imo. And dumping Kintzler doesn't save much money. I just don't see it that way at all.

    I share this opinion, but once they didn't do that, I think trading Kintzler at this point makes sense.... If they don't add at least one SP and 2 RPs this off season, I will be disappoint.

    Oakland wanted near ready CF, and are likely moving the SS to the OF. The Twins don't have that, other than Buxton..... No way I deal Romero, Thorpe, Badoo for 2 months of Darvish. Zero.

    I just wanted them to go one or the other, John. I would have loved to have gotten Gray somehow, and another RP, but that was never in the cards, I don't think. I think they got some lottery tickets, which seems like a reasonable return, but yes, none of these guys are TOP prospects.

    Well, I was hoping this FO would either go for it (more than 1 player coming in), or trade off players, weeks ago. They didn't really do either, apparently. Put me in the slightly disappointed camp they didn't succeed at doing one or the other.
