  1. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jake-odorizzi-is-probably-an-adjustment-away/
  2. Agreed. And I've said as much. It's a nice trade, that had to be made, because their other options are bad options at this time.
  3. Like batting average excludes HBP, errors, and walks? All stats include and exclude things. It's just one stat, to provide context.
  4. Now that they've acquired a starter, do they have another guy to DL? Or will they cull someone from the 40 man?
  5. Of course they say that. They aren't going to go to press and say they traded for a mediocre player
  6. It is a risk worth taking, but he's probably not particularly good. He'll need luck, again, I'd guess, to be good. But, the price is good.
  7. He's ok. But let's be realistic, he was just traded for the twins third or fourth best short stop prospect....
  8. Francisco Liriano has been good more recently....
  9. I'm guessing the white Sox are planning on 2020 also.... And the tigers can't be as bad as they will be this year, I'd guess.
  10. Funny. No one ever looks at the early years of long contracts, and the extra value supplied then, they only look at the last years. Also, flexibility means nothing, if you won't spend money. Lastly, given his actions last year, why would Dozier resign here if they don't improve the team? Would make last year seem to not be real....
  11. Two leaders per young guy, almost have enough now.
  12. Making decisions based on spring training scrimmage games against AA and AAAA players seems like a bad idea. If only there were three years of data.....
  13. He asked to go to the minors last year, he didn't consent, he asked
  14. Read the comments. And, he's been one of the worst pitchers in baseball for three years. This isn't a fluke.
  15. People are seeing this as good? Speechless.
  16. He was a great player. Now? If they can't afford to sign pitching, they can't afford to keep an ok first baseman.
  17. Just like when some of us who aren't really basketball fans asked why teams didn't shoot more threes..... Seems obvious after the change... This is a cool article about the practical aspects
  18. No one here will be disappointed if the team is good. Seriously. The point holds for mid market teams, not sure why that was what you argued .
  19. You think you are getting more than a top fifty prospect for him? I predict Dozier is gone after this year, another year of a great player wasted.
  20. Where did he say give Dozier away? He said trade him for pitching. Do people think Brian will stay if they do nothing to fix the rotation? After how he reacted last year?
  21. There are very few trades until the ASB, the 40 man is pretty set once the season starts until then.
  22. I hope he's good. He might be their only hope this year.
  23. They knew what they were getting into. They chose this. They aren't in a tough spot at all.
