  1. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/twins This year they should add, I'm guessing, 7 players from the minors will debut that were acquired in trade. That changes if they sign a 1B and another SP......
  2. Uh, wut? Nelson Cruz has fWAR.......fWAR is also not focused on fielding. And no one has been able to come up with a good way to measure managers, despite years of effort.
  3. Agreed. This was obviously going to be a problem in 19 and beyond......it needs to be fixed. Perhaps they will manage to be right about enough of the players they have added, but that is unlikely to help in 20, and barely likely to be enough in 21. Not impossible, but not likely that they can rely only on internal options or cheap signings. I'm still hopeful they sign Ryu and/or make a trade, but as I've said for a year, there just aren't many currently good MLB starting pitchers available.....because most of the good pitchers are on playoff contenders.
  4. so, national writers should say what, about swings? Nothing? Other than that, I have no issue with your post/opinion. It's all a matter of projection at this point.
  5. Pretty sure if the Twins trade for one of the best players in the game, and extend him....that that poster would find it refreshing.
  6. I'm not sure what you want me to do. I have read up on him over and over.....and some writers aren't sure he can stick at short....heck, FG said they listed him at CF because IF he fails at SS, he'll be a good/great CF. But, like I said, I have no idea what you want from me at all........ I was responding to statements about them being "sure" and "black and white", when none of them are.....
  7. Humorously....they all still rate him as one of the 10-20 best prospects in baseball, and the Twins' best prospect....and yet people seem genuinely angry that they suggest he a: might not stick at SS, and b: isn't the best hitter he can be right now and he needs to make an adjustment in his approach........
  8. Two were scouts for teams. They also talk to scouts and coaches to do the analysis. Also, if you actually read their write-ups, there is nothing black or white about what Fangraphs says about Lewis. I have no idea what you are arguing.
  9. Incomplete. That said..... I don't think you can judge the trade as Ynoa for.... Those are two different trades, unless this was the plan all along. Getting anything useful for Garcia at that point is a good trade. The fact you may have paid too much for Garcia is separate. Unless, as I said, this was the plan all along.
  10. Fifteen of Fangraphs top twenty free agent starting pitchers are signed, plus a few others. Two were brought back to Minnesota. They have not acquired any of the other top twenty.... Is anyone excited about the remaining guys at this point?
  11. Are you saying you would not trade Lewis for the number 1 pitching prospect in the minors?
  12. It is a numbers game, and I feel a lot better about this list than at any time in recent Twins' history. But I hope the rotation isn't Berrios, Pineda, and three of those guys in 2021.......
  13. I share those, but I'm not sure I have a better, realistic, option at this point....
  14. You might want to read his later response and note the sarcasm part.....
  15. You don't think the MLB ERA leader is a good pitcher? I mean, you can think he's not elite, but you think the ERA leader is not good?
  16. There is no evidence Cleveland is selling out. They traded a guy that didn't play last year for a relief pitcher they love now. And cleared money. As for the article, what should fans want, if not for the team to succeed at adding talent? Fandom is not rational, but once you are a fan, shouldn't you be upset if your team fails to add great players using one of the avenues to do so? If there are barriers to people coming to Minnesota, it's leadership's job to create a team and culture that overcomes those barriers. Just like UHG, Target and other Minnesota companies do who still attract top talent.
  17. I'm not going to dig thru posts, and the main point is..... None of these guys are as likely to be a major league pitcher as an existing major league pitcher, so they need to add at least one more pitcher. And next year they lose Odorrizi..... So they'll be in this position again. And Pineda the next year. They have one major league pitcher under control for more than two years.....
  18. Quite a few posters here. Saying that signing these free agents is a bad idea, and we should trust the FO to develop these guys.
  19. Putting aside if they were projected aces or not.... They were projected major league regulars.... Which is helping the Twins this year? To me, this is a cautionary tale for those that are confident that the Twins can stand still on pitching this year, or even next.
  20. I sort of worked with the CEO of Anthem, and reported to one of her CIOs. She's a great leader, who is remaking Anthem in UHGs image. I own too much healthcare stock..... But some of you may not.....
  21. I have, over and over, and you've said no to each. Hence, what would you do?
