    Not to mention but context matters. The twins weren't real contenders when Kepler came up. Also, scouting and projections matter. Kepler wins in both of those over Austin.... By a huge margin.

    Other than a handful of people, is anyone surprised the pitching is bad? Bargain signings and trades.... Are bargains for a reason. Romero should be in the pen. After their fifth starter is terrible, I anticipate a series of promotions. Oh, and next year? They have one legit starter signed.... Good luck.

    Well, that's not the same as worrying about Cron vs Austin.......since you'd have the same worry if they kept Austin, and he got hurt......

    I don't think it is unrealistic to expect Austin to be better this year and next, I just don't think he will be. But I'm not all that confident, frankly.

    because they have three young starting OFers, they have 4-7 legit OF prospects, and one or more will move to DH/1B.....see Cody Bellinger as an example....... So, no, we don't agree that none of those will ever move to 1B or DH (and backup OF) (and, as I posted later, I'm betting 1B is Sano or Rooker medium term or longer). Also, as Mauer reminds us, sometimes catchers become 1B......

    fascinating. Especially since the Twins refused to use him in the OF last year, or in spring training, as many of us hoped they would.

    Last post.....I forgot to mention the likelihood Sano is at DH/1B in the next year or two...... I wonder if there is an OF they can try at 3B......in the minors, I mean.

    I literally said 2 of them might hit, not sure how I'm counting chickens........I left off Baddoo and about 6 other players in the minors that can probably hit and field as well as Austin will. Of course any ONE of them is a long shot, but it isn't a long shot that they have a replacement level player that will play 1B and DH in their system.......

    We're going off this year's sample size, and not last year and projecting likely outcomes? I'm not ready to do that....you might be....

    I would not have signed Cron, but they did. Once they did, there wasn't really any way Austin stays on this roster if everyone is healthy. I would have used that money on pitching..... And, I'm just not worried about it. They have Rooker, Kiriloff, Wade, Weil, Lanarch, Jeffers, Garver and others that can move to 1B next year. While I think Austin can probably hit, I don't know that. I am confident 2-4 of those guys will, and that they can also play 1B and the OF better than Austin.

    Not if Cron is good and Austin isn't. Plus, they have about 8 guys in AAA, AA, A+ that have Austin's hit tool, but that can also play OF or 1B better than him.

    Because you don't know, and there were no other good options. Why not? And maybe Rooker will be the same, but most second round picks are about that.

    stock wise? No idea. Use wise? Easy to use as a collaboration tool. I like it......but you were probably asking about the stock.....

    It's so pricey....I know that at one point my son found a download you could install to allow you to use the touchscreen when the car was moving.......also, the radio controls are the worst. Is there any other system where you can't push a button for a particular radio station, with a list of 5 or more on the screen or buttons?

    Apparently not for Austin. And yes, they need high end pitching. But then most teams do....

    College was a lot cheaper..... And we made good money, and did not buy a big house, and drove our cars into the ground. I barely made it to the dump one year driving my old car there....

    The question of what to do with Austin has nothing to do with Lynn..... That already happened. The Lynn signing was an ok move, not a great move, that didn't work. But they needed pitching....

    It's not about losing Cave, it's about having four good OF on the roster. You can't replace him in the roster without sending out someone else....

    Pretty much after my first job......my wife and I really wanted a cushion for emergencies. I mean, I started saving when I was a kid, I had a few thousand saved up before college (which was a decent amount back then)......
