  1. That would shock me. Teams just don't deal their top prospects anymore, let alone two of them. I'd 100% do that deal if I was the Twins, which makes me think it is even less likely to happen...... I wanted Gore in that draft, but he can't throw strikes right now, so he's probably not really #5 in that system at this point......he's the ultimate high risk / high reward guy.....
  2. I think Sherzer is better....but Berrios is cheaper AND signed thru next year....that's a big delta for a team giving up good to great prospects (which teams seem very reticent to do anymore). But, if I'm going for it, I want Max more. If I'm more aiming for the next two years, I want Jose more.
  3. I know teams don't trade top prospects anymore, but if you don't get Jeter Downs, I have no interest in sending Berrios to the Red Sox. None.
  4. No way. He hasn't thrown a strike since 2019.......no chance. Zero.
  5. I could be talked into dealing for a few longer term pitchers, with quantity from the twins.... And shouldn't you be asleep?
  6. As Kevin points out.... Hard to get top prospects anymore....
  7. I'm not trying to do anything other than guess.....no defense at all. He doesn't need me for that. I'm guessing Duffey would fetch a decent prospect or two...... Also, to Seth's point, there are a ton of moving pieces right now (maybe moving, anyway).......we literally have no idea. I'm merely offering an alternative to the "Baldelli is stupid" posts.....
  8. As I surmised in the game thread, I'm guessing that he didn't go to the pen for two reasons: 1. It is a lost season, and he and the FO want to see if their pitchers can get out of jams. 2. The FO is trying to deal (or willing to deal) the three RPs that were on the bench, and he was instructed not to use them before the game even started. I'm guessing it is both of those.
  9. They lost because they gave up a grand slam in the 9th......they lost because the bullpen is terrible.
  10. They've traded for A LOT of guys the last two years, and I don't think they've given up one guy in their top 10 list......but yes, it is possible they would deal him.
  11. I can't see them dealing either of those players....but if you threw in Rortverdt, you might be able to get Campusano as part of a deal. Gore? LOVED him his draft year, but he has the yips for sure. Not certain he's fixable at this point.....it has been 2-3 years now.
  12. Truly amazing after the success of the last two years. Everything was wrong. And in huge ways. If they only move Cruz, it will be another failure.
  13. No chance I trade with them without getting a higher ranked guy than you propose. Pineda and Arraez or Berrios for top prospects. This is the system to go after.
  14. Neither is signing for that. Not even close.
  15. I'm hoping that happens....and I agree, the next CBA could make some owners question signing guys to big deals this off season. Though some teams will forge ahead, and a FA only needs 1 to pay/play. I think the minor league stuff is not something you and I will agree on, so I'll leave it at that.
  16. We've been predicting changes in revenue for years, yet it keeps going up. And teams keep selling for record numbers, so owners must think it won't be going down soon. I do agree with your other points.
