  1. It’s time to bring back the golf carts!! Imagine how many steps would be saved if Buxton could get a ride out to the field and up to the plate when he is due up! Even after his home run last night, the cart could have come to pick him up and give him a ride around the bases 🤣
  2. Good plan. Do actual things with people who matter to you. The Twins will still have games on the schedule through September, if you wanted to circle back at some point.
  3. Honestly, like you always say Mike, who cares what the manager says to the public? Why should we believe a word of this? 🙂
  4. Wrong. Correa is a great defensive shortstop. 🙂 But that's not really my point. Polanco wasn't great at short, but I was fine with him there. Given enough time and a long enough leash, I am betting Lewis would have demonstrated that he was not as good as Correa, but was better than Polanco. Instead, we are discussing whether Lewis is even good enough to hold down third base.
  5. I thought what Miranda needed in April/May was a run at DH, or a couple days off. What Kirilloff needs is first base, and what Lewis needs is to play shortstop. (There is 3/4s of next season’s infield if you had asked me this past offseason) Anyway, the AAA carousel is not the answer, in my opinion. I think it’s also time to turn our gaze from the players to the coaching philosophy and stuff like that.
  6. You are guessing, I am guessing, we are all just guessing. It is worth watching.
  7. No doubt Buxton's knees are not at 100%, but he is in the line up again tonight. Are we to believe that the nature of Buxton's injury allows him to bat, run, pivot and quickly accelerate when he is on the base paths, but not do the same things when he is in the outfield? The only place I have seen this needle being threaded is in opinion pieces like this one. Some good, solid reporting might put the speculation to rest, but at this point we would probably disagree on what constitutes good solid reporting as well. I think if you really gave this some thought, you and everyone else in this thread with this same take would agree that the place for him is the injured list, then.
  8. It's the blindspot of every fan. People want to project how good Buxton might be, by saying "what if we projected those good 90 games out to a full 162 game season?" Turn it around, and the reverse is, "What if all the other players in the league were able to cherry pick their best healthiest 90 games, and remove their bad stretches when they were hurt?" We'd be in the same place.
  9. I am a radio geek, and heard most of the ‘CCO coverage today. (ooh good for me) Anyway, there has been nothing spoken from anyone lately about this phantom injury that is preventing Buxton from taking the field. In fact, gladden made a comment at some point today that basically said the Twins are waiting for Buxton to come to them to say he’s ready to play center again. With the bad break Taylor suffered today and he figuring to be out for a couple days now at least, I’m hoping we see Buxton in center field tomorrow night. Surprise us, Twins. Surprise us, Buck. The team needs you! Pleasantly surprise us, please.
  10. Balazovic with the big club today , Jorge Lopez off the 26 roster for now per radio
  11. Balazovic with the big club. Welcome! Jorge Lopez put on restricted list. Behind the scenes stuff this morning that might explain why a bunch of Twins officials missed their media appointments this morning
  12. If so, that explains a lot! Thank you! 🤣
  13. Sonny Gray has been to a couple all star games. He might rather have the four day vacation this year, not sure.
  14. Sure, call it tension, competitiveness, whatever. Doesn’t really matter in the long run.
  15. This point can’t be emphasized enough. On the micro level, yeah maybe pull him last night, I didn’t see how he was doing either. No opinion. On the macro level, the trend in 2023 has been a quicker hook for Gray compared to his April starts, and the Twins bullpen will really benefit by leaving Gray in games longer this summer, i’m even hoping that we can get an extra 15-20 innings out of Gray these next couple months. Then at the end of the season the Twins can go back to the early hooks and playing the situational pitching changes as we get later into the AL Central race, if needed. I think there is obviously a trend across baseball to pull starters earlier, but I am not one of those people who needs the smelling salts when starter puts a couple runners on after the 5th or 6th inning.
  16. I started off by saying I had no opinion on whether Gray should have been pulled last night. That is as non-assuming as you can possibly get. No need to call anyone out for saying they have no opinion. If you want to argue without evidence that the bullpen was not addressed this past offseason, fine. I am not going to call it out every time I see it somewhere in a thread. These summer months are the time to get these extra innings out of Gray. He is a pro and should be given a motivation to pitch deep and work out of his own jams when necessary.
  17. I don’t know what’s going on, but obviously Sonny Gray is not a big Rocco fan lol. So I am going to assume there is a reason for that, but—maybe not. The off field and interpersonal stuff is a big part of being a fan for me. Maybe Sonny Gray always feels this way about his manager on all his teams? Good question and I don’t know. So there you have challenged me in a good way to go back and maybe look at old quotes and try to get more information.
  18. Please stop following me around, nitpicking posts you don’t like, and accusing me of having agendas or narratives. Please.
  19. Good question and not sure. We don’t hear from Maki enough( maybe he likes it that way). The tension between Gray and Baldelli is palpable. Whatever, raise a toast to competitors.., 🥂🥃
  20. I fully expect the Twins to take 3 of 4 still, and a split wouldn’t be the end of the world.
  21. No opinion tonight on whether Gray should have stayed in the game tonight, but Rocco has given him a quick hook plenty of times in the past. Rocco needs to set aside whatever personal differences he has with Gray and work him like a rented mule, squeeze out every possible inning and save the pen. This is Gray’s last season in Minnesota either way.
  22. I didn’t realize his numbers weren’t that great, so it makes sense to some degree.
  23. huh? That seems just weird to continue jerking around Larnach like that. Anyway, yeah I heard Gladden say that Buxton was running full sprints before the game, max effort, and expected Buxton to be activated in the next day or two.
