    I'm still really confused about Gardy's comments on Dozier playing the shift the other night. If you can shed light on that - whether it's a Gardy thing or a Dozier thing.

    Going back to the short Phil Miller story linked in the OP, I thought the story read verbatim from last year. ... "No one likes to lose" ... "We'll sit down at the end of the season," ... "winning takes time but fans want immediate gratification" ... followed by "fans deserve better" ... The narrative around retaining Gardenhire isn't changing apparently. Leads me to believe the narrative of the 2014 season will be the same of 2013, that it was always going to be a rebuilding year. So rewind the reel and prepare to watch the same show next year?

    Take QB's. In the second or third round you might want to take a WR or RB just to be polite, though.

    After so many years, it feels good to keep sending out the same lineup night after night, and it's not a bad one. There is hope.

    Agree. I could feel comfortable rolling into next year without a major signing of a position player. Wouldn't it be nice if Mauer came out and said "yeah, I feel I've improved at first base, but I'd be willing to give left field a try. I love a challenge and left field is where I always hit the ball anyway, so maybe I'll learn something new."

    To see if Alex Gordon continues his good luck in left field positioning vs Joe Mauer. Whether Moustakas gives us free runs with his glove or delivers big hits against us. Can we hit off the KC bullpen. But, I'm hoping for Kansas City to win the division so maybe a conflict of interest here.

    There's a little exaggeration there, but your point is taken. Conversely, note to the dyed-in-the-wool Mauer defenders: when Mauer is not producing or is on the shelf, his contract will be fair game. I mean, he hurt his oblique while operating a baseball bat, for Pete's sake.

    The best plan for Pinto at this point is to let him just be the backup. I've seen zero from Fryer. However it seems to me like native spanish speaking catchers fall out of favor when they reach the Twins big club. Morales, Ramos, now Pinto. That's the best explanation I got.
