Don't forget baserunning so bad his grandma chewed him out.

Jeffers, Duran, Lewis (he's a free agent sooner than you think), Jax.

Because it's cheaper to do it earlier than later. You risk more guaranteed money by waiting because they get more expensive.

Rosters expand on Friday. They let Okert go. Maybe they'll finally be willing to cut Kyle Farmer if Lee is healthy.

I don't think Keirsey will be a starter but he's probably worth having for the AAA shuttle, especially when Byron Buxton is the team's starting CF. Someone mentioned Jake Cave and that might be fair. Jake Cave has played over 500 games in MLB. I don't think they have added him because they want to use all 3 of his option years 2025-27 as a 15th or 16th position player on the roster.

Winder has a 6.16 ERA in AAA in 41 innings. Henriquez has a 3.44 ERA in 55 innings. Henriquez would have to give up 11 runs in his next inning to match Winder's performance.
  7. DJL44
Henriquez has clearly outpitched Winder this season.

He pitched 5 shutout innings against the Blue Jays to get the Twins their first playoff series win since 2003.

So your position is the front office is incompetent and should be fired because they lose all their trades.
  10. DJL44
Then they should dump Chris Paddack.

A prospects-for-prospects trade for catching would be a good idea even if they keep Vazquez for his last season.

We have a name on that pick now: Kyle DeBarge. We'll see how that pans out, although they did pick him underslot and give some of the money to Hill.

That is defensible. They aren't doing that either.

Buxton should be back next week.

I think the locals are all at the State Fair. Tonight they'll all be watching Caitlin Clark at the arena next door.

They are spending about $60M more than Oakland, so they're doing more than the bare minimum, but Oakland isn't trying to win right now.

Raya is definitely headed for his 3rd year in Wichita.

Pallante did a great job keeping the ball off the barrel of the bat. He owned Trevor Larnach.

I blame Royce Lewis. He should have flatly said no. I normally dislike athlete interviews because they are vapid and uninteresting. When they happen during a baseball game I get irritated. It would be great if they could shut up for a while so I could watch the game.

Based on what I saw last night it's because Festa can't hit his spots when he's tired. As the game goes on he starts leaving fastballs middle-middle.

This team has all sorts of financial flexibility. It would be defendable if they had spent the money on someone else instead of just putting it in their pocket. Sonny Gray has a FIP of 3.21 and 135 innings pitched. He is having a season right in line with his last 5 seasons. The Cardinals got a bargain, especially when you consider how backloaded that contract is.

In 2024, Major League Baseball, the North American professional baseball league, reported overall revenue of 11.34 billion U.S. dollars, corresponding to an average revenue of roughly 378 million U.S. dollars per team. - Statista

Surprised no mention of the Chevy trucks on Machinery Hill.

I hope he finds a spot somewhere. He deserves a shot to see what he can do. Worse players than him have made it to the big leagues. I remember Casey Blake never got a real shot until he was 29 and he put together a nice career.
