  1. The Twins Take No Prisoners Tour continues tonight, as Minnesota goes for its sixth straight win against AL Central opponents. (Recall that we defeated these same Chisox the final two games last season.) Sorry to talk baseball. I deserve shunning.
  2. Have to remember that a couple of our guys are only half the pitchers they used to be.
  3. I see a lot of Papi-potential in Vargas. Hope he lights it up.
  4. One of the ugliest men ever on TV.
  5. Hope he brings along Wonderboy and knocks the cover off the ball.
  6. Here's how I see things: Bases jammed, two outs. Either we score or we don't. Who's with me on this?
  7. Dozier does look a lot like Killebrew at times. Like his last AB. But strikeouts happen.
  8. "I'll take 'Ethnic customs' for a thousand, Alex." "Good luck, Circus Boy. Here's your answer: People at a polka like to do this." "What is Pole dancing?" "Yes! And you've taken the lead!"
  9. And equally pleasing is not giving up a two-out, two-strike hit. Very nice, Mr. Santana. Smooth.
  10. Scoring runs with two outs. One of life's greatest pleasures.
  11. On the other hand, I kept Wally Pipp even after his trip to the DL.
  12. Ah, the Gen. Patton question: "To tank? Or not to tank?" While little has gone right for the Twins this season, I'm enjoying the recent spell of good baseball and want it to continue. Last night's 2-1 win over the Bosox was fun and compelling and a nifty bounceback to the previous game's shellacking. Fans are hungry for more of that right now, not some chimerical future time.
  13. Hope he stays. A delight when he's dealing. Has potential to run the table the rest of his starts second half.
  14. I'm enjoying the games more lately, mostly because we're getting competitive and playing a better mix of players. The Hawaiian Ax Murderer -- Suzuki -- is a delight, as are Kepler, Sano, Vargas, Nunez and Dozier. The pitching shines more (in a good way). Over the last 10 games, we have our first winning record this season at 6-4. And since May 25 we're 18-21 -- not great, but certainly better. I'm looking forward to the second half.
  15. "So tell us, Lurch... What's your take on your 2016 Twins?" "(grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)"
  16. After getting laughed at, we always rubbed dirt and spit on it and went back on the field.
