  1. Certainly didn't have his best stuff last night, but consider: No one would have scored if Santana hadn't loaded them up first. May didn't cave. He got six outs and gave his team the chance to win.
  2. The look of relief on May's face -- through the gallons of flop sweat -- were worth the price of admission. And he got the win, ultimately coming through at the game's turning point. I like this guy.
  3. Bobby Wilson -- what more can be said? Well done! Women want to be like him. Men want to have his baby.
  4. I'm enjoying this team now as is. The effort's there. The results are often good. No playoffs this year, so the last six weeks are about building. A nice win streak would do wonders.
  5. Sano's batting .319 since July 30 in 47 ABs. Baby steps. Even with the last strikeout, he's looking like he belongs in the lineup.
  6. Before this year, Berrios has been a good day pitcher. But this year he's 3-6 and an ERA approaching 5. Hope he settles down and gets some quick innings going forward. Good to see the bats get to Archer, too.
  7. We grumble a lot, but there is real talent on this team, and last night they shined. Looked like there was more focus with every pitch and every at bat. I would love for them to finish the season strong.
  8. We don't know what we don't know, so we'll hope for good news.
  9. And I've spent the weekend trying to comfort a farmer friend of mine. His gal just dumped him. Sent him a John Deere letter.
  10. Don't deserve to win when the .167 hitter gets an RBI double in the 8th. Grrrrr.
  11. I really like May, as well. The thing about Hildy, though, is that of the 12 runs he's given up in the past 9.2 innings in 10 games, none of them cost us a win except for the Lindor walkoff HR.
  12. Not looking good. The Hildy Experience -- I would have run Magill out first, or kept May in for a second inning. Oh well.
  13. Through 6, it's Good Guys 4, Los Tigres 1.
  14. Yay! Sano's back. Was there any explainin' why he needed a day off last night?
  15. I just called up the gamecast and see Polanco hit a 3-run HR to tie the game at 4-4. I chose my timing... well.
  16. Not surprising at all to see former Twins do well. The pressure of futures up in the air does funny things to us all, not least to elite athletes. Once that pressure's off, everything seems easy-peasy again, like Little League.
  17. I'm staying optimistic. No one was loving Forsythe, but he's had a good first week. If Field can play solid D and get some good swings, that's all we can ask.
  18. Lemme guess -- you misspelled Rick?
  19. A Major League grand slam has got to be one of the best things in life. Right behind crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women.
  20. Hope we can get to Duffy early and often. He's had our number the past five years.
  21. Nice to wake up and see that Rogers and FR pitched clean innings to close out the win. Mystified why the Twins struggle to beat such a bad team, but there you are.
