  1. All I know is, we'll need at least four more runs to cinch this.
  2. Expectations are through the roof now. Escobar has to hit no less than four homers. And Rosario will make all 27 outs barehanded.
  3. The Twins look like a team that is still learning how to win, and games like the last two weeks can go a long way. The losses have mostly come down to one AB, one pitch. Even the almost-comeback games would have landed in the win column with one more swing, one more wicked sinker. Bottom line: Don't give up on this bunch yet.
  4. I agree. But we shouldn't deny ourselves happiness for finally putting up several good at-bats in a row..
  5. On a similar note, my wife wants to have Lynn's baby.
  6. I'll echo what most posters have said in various ways: I hope Mr. Hughes latches on somewhere and wins Comeback Player of the Year.
  7. Now that he's not tipping his pitches, he's doing fine. And I really liked the bats coming through at the right moments. But a laugher in our favor would be nice.
  8. I'm eating ham for supper. Tastes like chicken. BTW, 17 Ks today. When's the last time that happened?
  9. It's 3-1. More runs would be nice At any rate, me so happy. Bring on the Fernando Experience.
  10. A win will make me happy. Another late-inning loss will do the opposite. I took the red pill.
  11. Wife asked the score. Me: "We're behind 1-to-1."
  12. No worries here. Twins are 18-20 and showing signs of consistently putting together good games. I prefer being mildly disappointed to the nervousness of last year, when they were 21-17 and every time out we all wondered when the wheels were going to come off. Starters look good. Bullpen is reliable, if unspectacular. And the hitting will come around. Heck, Morrison is ready to top the Mendoza line. For me, I enjoy every game as they unfold and see real potential for a breakout, much like Cleveland last summer. Play ball!
  13. Someone on the Angels should explain to this Ohtani kid that strikeouts are fascist.
  14. It was one of the best. Nominated for a Pulitzer in the spontaneous blog category.
  15. When the Twins were losing 185 games, we discussed doilies on the GT. Now we talk donuts. Quite the upgrade.
  16. Buxton is such a disrupter on the basepaths and a game-saver in the field. That frustrates opponents mightily and lifts his teammates, the consequence being we win close games more often. Buck's in the other team's heads so much, MLB wants to make him pay rent.
  17. And he's not Greek.
  18. Truly fun to wake up and read about a Twins comeback win.
  19. Yep. I got a stern talking to from the TD moderators for one too many gosh-darns.
  20. Love winning streaks. But the absolute best five-game streak will be winning the seventh game of the ALC at Yankee Stadium, then sweeping the Cubs in the World Series.
  21. Not only that, their pitchers hit home runs! Not fair, I tell you. EDIT: (Uh, just saw that it's a different Martinez batting third. I plead distractions at work.)
  22. So much to like, but can't help but wonder how the game would have gone without Rosario's terrific catch. Can you make a game-saving play in the first inning? I say, "Absolutely!"
