  1. Disagree. Wallner is known to be a swing tinkerer, and the article said his swing is flatter. He’s trying to change. Typically hitters flatten their swing to speed it up and reduce Ks, sacrificing power. his Ks went up, and sacrificed power. some of this is coaching (maybe his personal hitting coach). I think he’s tinkering too much and lost his identity, or just wearing down physically younger than I would expect.
  2. You know you’ve sunk to a new level of desperation when you’re ready to reunite with Ron Davis.
  3. I feel like this is a trick question… The runs per game is declining on both sides. So, no? But also it’s a fundamental quality thing, not just a maximize strength minimize weakness. With a 13 position player roster, 9 starters, one back up catcher, leaves 3 reserves for 8 positions. You can’t platoon 7 guys
  4. I’m sure they are. you don’t see many trades that aren’t DFA related this time of year.
  5. The dozens of Twins fans at the game will have to Uber in
  6. Jeffers won’t make it to free agency as a Twin. If the extension isn’t done (not necessarily announced) by the trade deadline, he’s getting dealt.
  7. This! The problem isn’t Buck, it’s that he’s surrounded by horrible fielders. And when you have the most extreme fly ball pitching staff in the league, outfield quality matters.
  8. For some reason I can’t edit my post… and I’m a moderator… To clarify my thought, this team is one injury away from having two bullpen games per week. They still need to pitch 1100 innings this year. They need the bulk in 2026, towards the end of the season they need to convert starters to relievers for 2027 and can afford to with fewer innings in front of them. something they should have done last year…
  9. as bad as the bullpen is, the rotation is threadbare already. Prielipp, Rojas, Festa, Mathews, Morris… none of them are getting to 5 innings in a start reliably or more than 110 innings total on the season. while 3 or 4 of the 5 are likely destined to the bullpen (if they stick in the majors), and they desperately need to move them to the bullpen now, they need them all to stay stretched out just to get the innings.
  10. Erod starting in Right, Martin Left, pushes Larnach to DH, Bell to 1B, and Clemens or Outman off the roster and increases the talent on the 26 man.
  11. Who’d have thunk that running back the same team as last August and September would yield the same results as last August and September?!?!
  12. Coming into the season, I think the consensus here was it was an awful bullpen. outside of a hot streak, consensus was right. It is an awful bullpen!
  13. 2024 his 106 wRC+ ranked 20th among 3b and his 1.1 WAR ranked 26. Above league average is not a good or average 3B.
  14. Clemens in a utility role, fine. As the big side of a 1B platoon, I have problems that can be solved with just a bit more creativity. Emma Rodriguez should push Larnach to primary DH and Bell to primary 1B. Outman off the roster. Larnach would then shift to OF so Rodriguez/Martin can spell Buck.
  15. Bullpen sweat watch only orange? you have some steely nerves! my bullpen sweat is borderline stroke
  16. Why in the hell does this team have a pitch to contact ground baller in the bulllen?
