  1. How’s Royce’s knee? He’s looking really good, and if Miranda can show today, what he did last year, I want both in the lineup
  2. They are ranked 8th league wide in homeruns, 16th in slugging percentage, 20th in OPS. I agree, hitting is what’s holding this team back, but they aren’t without power. They’re league average on the run creation metrics. The Yankees are right there with the Twins. They’re 17th in payroll, league average hitting, one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, and middle of the pack in terms of record, plus 45 in run differential, 4th in the AL. Looking at the injuries, how poorly Buck and Correa have hit, and Larnach, Wallner, and Julien mashing in triple A, I have optimism this team will begin to hit better and dominate the ALC soon. It’s not all doom and gloom, even if this team is very frustrating to watch right now.
  3. Royce, 28.2 sprint speed, ranked 108
  4. What kind of Reliver is Kepler worth? We already have Emilio Pagan? I don’t want two Pagans!
  5. Fangraphs splits tool does that. here’s Bullpen ranks by WHIP, Twins are 10th here it is by WPA, Twins rank 15 and is in aggregate positive, which tells me the bullpen might not be blowing it as much as it feels. They’re around 500, so WPA wouldn’t be really high. Twins starters are 3rd in WHIP 4th in ERA First in WAR
  6. Sub Wallner for Kepler (IL, DFA, whatever) and IL Buck for Julien and these could have been much different games
  7. That video was full of nuggets! TR says “don’t bat him third, bat him lead off”: I read that as “get him the most at bats possible”, and Dougie Baseball read it as “I’m right and don’t need numbers to tell me that the three hole gets more sliders”. Why the heck would position in the lineup dictate how you pitch to him?
  8. Yup, and deflects mistakes then asks for credit. He did say the “we made a mistake in developing Buxton”, but really disjointed. That was weird
  9. I bet the age for MLB viewership skews older than other sports. gotta get mom’s building a firestick and a teenager to run it
  10. That’s the hindsight 20/20 thing that I come back to. In what we now know was a lost season, why didn’t they get his knee repaired right away and end his season early last year? Maybe coulda, woulda, shoulda…. He’s 100% and an all star. I know, we can’t know or speculate, but I can’t help myself, playing on the bum knee last year might have contributed to the extended recover this year.
  11. This gets at the heart of the debate. Is Buxton’s health and capability to play CF in Falvine and Baldelli’s control? I don’t think we know if he is healthy enough and capable to play CF. I do think the FO and Baldelli know. I also think if Buxton were healthy enough and capable to play CF, he would be. everyone, Buxton, Baldelli, Falvey, Correa, would rather have Buck in CF than DH.
  12. https://www.mlb.com/video/sonny-gray-in-play-out-s-to-steven-kwan-opkcrx
  13. Lewis CF, Miranda 3B or Lewis 3B, Gallo and AK corner OF, Miranda 1b edit to add, Miranda needs to hit in order for this stuff to matter
  14. Wow! Twin Cities not getting the Twins! The MLB is so bad at this!
