  1. Good question! I have no idea, but my point of reference is marathon training. I’m starting my taper now for a marathon in early October, that I started training for in April. 3-4 weeks lines up, but I’m not sure how comparable this really is, and just like an Il stint, every situation and athlete is different
  2. Yes, but Ober has obliterated his career innings record this season. Ryan is on track to exceed his innings record too even after his IL stint. Gray hasn’t been a workhorse. this team was going to need some reinforcements for the August slog, I’m ok with that being a guy you dont feel bad about DFAing when he’s not needed anymore.
  3. Correct, trade assignment waivers have been gone since 2019. No such thing as an August trade anymore. AZPhil of The Cub Reporter has a great MLB Roster Rule resource. https://www.thecubreporter.com/book/mlb-roster-rules-presented-arizona-phil-22
  4. If you absolutely have to catch that 10:45 train, I’d take the green line. Parking is hard to get out. I usually park in the ABC ramps. Very slow to exit. Typically on my way back to Wisconsin, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to drive to downtown St. Paul. The only reason I don’t park in St Paul and ride the green line in, is the extra park time and cost of parking/train fare, but that’s not an issue for you.

  6. With Royce active and productive, Jhoan Duran might be more important. If Correa goes on the IL, there’s options that can be very productive, including Royce & Farmer if Duran goes to the IL, I shudder to think who fills that gap…
  7. I pray DK doesn’t make the post season roster. 2.08 K9 and 4.85 ERA doesnt exactly scream bullpen Ace to me.
  8. Hindsight is 20/20. What prospects are doing this year is not a fair way to grade a trade. https://www.ballysports.com/north/news/minnesota-twins-2022-mlb-trade-deadline-grades-mahle-fulmer-lopez This was published 8/3/22, and offered several writers grades on trades and the Twins’ deadline as a whole. Lots of As and Bs and Twins won the deadline.
  9. No way, luke warm take, at best. Probably closer to tepid
  10. I always thought Murray was behind the goofy pig roaming around and haircuts, and the weird contests. But Veeck referred to his own son as “Night Train”! That is wonderful, and insightful, of who Veeck really is as the voice of the ownership group.
  11. I think Dobnak is just the right amount of “looked”
  12. How’s Polanco at digging short hoppers at First?
  13. He has 121 Ks, if he plays all 50 of the remaining, he’ll whiff 1.39x50=69 more times which would be 190 times on the season. Not his personal record, but more than Sano’s 178 in 2016. He has played in 80% of the team’s games, if that trend continues, he might come up a few Ks short.
  14. Agreed, but even for only 15 days, it’s good to hold on to depth. Ryan isn’t the only starter showing signs of wearing down/hurt/injured. Varland could be up any day now.
  15. I dunno, honestly. I don’t understand and don’t like that the team failed to improve the team at the trade deadline. the article seemed to say that the FO may have changed their goal as a response to Cleveland unexpectedly selling. I think it’s a failure to neither buy nor sell at the deadline. It’s not an adjustment to stand still, but that’s what the article seemed to say.
  16. I think the point of the article is that standing pat, is an adjustment
  17. The White Sox are selling off The Guardians traded away Civale for a minor league bat. Do the Twins sell too? Seems like no one wants to win this pitiful division
