  1. Well said TFFA. I'm excited to see Vargas mature as a hitter and hopefully see him with the big league club.
  2. Only 31, but has a long history of leg injuries throughout his career. He's in the decline phase of his career, and can only hobble around so much. I hope OF reinforcements and moving Kubel to DH will give his tired 31 year old legs enough rest to be a consistent contributor through the rest of the season, or until (fingers crossed) he gets traded.
  3. Fuld has looked way more competent than Hicks, both fielding and hitting. I'm sure Hicks can get the ship righted, were he given the time in AAA to do so, but it's been ugly.
  4. Toronto was looking for starting pitching. I wonder if Correia could have done it, but I think Toronto solved their issue with a AAAA free agent
  5. we're back to the Dozier debate, robbing Peter to pay Paul. I'd rather see Santana be given every opportunity to lock down SS and use other resources such as trade or FA to shore up OF.
  6. Hate to be the wet blanket, but there is no outfield, and first base has been ugly. Plouffe has been ok, but good pitching becomes much less effective with poor fielding behind it.
  7. this is what I really like about Jack, he has a wealth of knowledge and explains it well, just really dry
  8. like pop up video? It's a great concept. I'd like to see some more situational stats on the live broadcast screen as well.
  9. MLB claims to own the descriptive rights to the games, but why would they want to stop anyone from talking about the teams, or the games (provided it's not a rebroadcast.) I fully support their wish to sell internet radio broadcasts or subscription TV broadcasts. But if you want people to buy such services, there needs to be reason to. Hype about teams is free advertising.
  10. This! It was perfectly feasible to increase depth at a thin position and not decrease depth (too much) at a position of strength or cutting roster chaff. All RA had to do was make sure Bartlett's paperwork got done on Friday, instead of letting it ride and let the chips fall where they may.
  11. I have been back and forth on Bartlett [Et Al] throughout the offseason, and I might be one of the quotes. Signing one of Bartlett, Kubel, Guerrier, in isolation isn't the end of the world, but when it's 3 and you owe all three of them roster spots, that's a lot of risk. Pressly and Mastro are both sorely missed, and Raley was certainly more a part of the future than Guerrier. This team is doubly worse because of Bartlett and Guerrier's presence and the players lost associated as such. if Pressly and Mastro are so easily replaceable, why is Hicks futilely hacking away and losing fly balls with the big league club?
  12. I would hope they gave him a wrists brace while on the base paths (provided he gets a stand up single)
  13. Sorry Brock, should've read further. I'm done
  14. its interesting to hear other people's faith story. I am not so bold to share it so openly in public face to face. the back story is, John the Baptist told Herod it was a sin to be hot for your step daughter (or niece depending on your translation) http://biblehub.com/commentaries/gill/matthew/14.htm Herod wouldn't "Marry" Salome because of it, but told Salome (or Herodias again translation) he'd give her anything she asked for a "dance". Being vindictive she asked for John the baptists head on a platter, which he obliged. Stripper isn't so far off, and this book has been translations of translations for hundreds of years.
  15. Santana took a good route on that bloop to center. Turned in the right direction, looked over his shoulder and chased it down. Hicks should be taking notes.
  16. Oops, one L, at least I didn't get the extra A in there.
  17. High! And Deep! To Right center field! Way back to deep second base, and Parmelee flies out to Torii
  18. I don't think a few off days is enough
  19. because he can't see anymore?
  20. Not a big fan of Nunez in LF
  21. Agreed, give up on the rebuilding farse.
  22. He can't hit MLB pitching lefty or righty, what's the difference?
