  1. I'm with you, best case scenario for Hicks with this team is 4th outfielder, even if Buxton never materializes.
  2. Exactly! Fuld is an ok 4th outfielder that you can't afford to lose. Colabello has options, so does hicks.
  3. If the decision is Fuld (no options) Santana (options) or Hicks (options) the decision had better not be expose the guy with no options to waivers... Just sayin' RA had better figure this one out by now.
  4. Your poor mom and poor mom's doctor
  5. Yeah, the poor kid has the traumatic brain injury kind... he'd be happier with commas ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  6. Agreed. Wisconsin is way better at everything but baseball team.
  7. I prefer commas ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, to comas
  8. What kinda of coma? Like Thanksgiving food coma, drug induced to avoid injury coma, or full on catastrophic traumatic brain injury coma?
  9. I agree with Stringer. His fielding is not good enough. High OBP predicated on the walk, with .198 BA says his BA should come up to Mendoza and his OBP should come down quite a bit. Why not challenge a .198 hitter? NL rule: Never ever walk the pitcher.
  10. if by next three years you mean 2016 and on, you might be right, except that not all of the prospects will work out and some of the veterans will move on. Think 60% will still be here and then figure out your plan. Either Buxton or Sano will not make it, most likely due to injury.
  11. I know they won't end at .500 but it's a heck of a lot better than watching the last few seasons
  12. Santana has made some moves that show a lack of polish, but none I have seen that are alarming. He's making really good throws, and I haven't seen him botch any grabs or exchanges. It's decision type plays that improve with time. Things like 2 outs, runner on 1rst, slow chopper to short on a hit and run. He has gone to 2 and not gotten the out rather than going to first for an easy end of the inning. He'll get there. So far his hitting SSS has been good. Man he had wheels. I'm optimistic got Danny Santana. I think he has a bright future.
  13. Oh no, colossal is accurate, and it's not the trade off, it's the subtraction by subtraction. They started with no 4th outfielder, brought up a 4th outfielder from triple A, then lost the depth they could have held by DFAing him instead of moving the heir apparent to triple A (who had options and was not ready for the bigs for the second season in a row) and platooning Mastro and Fuld until Hicks proved he was ready against triple A. Now we get attacks against a guy from management in the media for things that should have been established by the management long ago. Make no mistake. The Twins are, just like every other sports franchise and large business in the world, using media to make their case. They should, it's what good organizations do. but just because they are using the right tactic, doesn't mean they are using it correctly or wisely, just like the 40 man roster.
  14. The All-Star for the Twins should be Hughes or Dozier, but I think it will be Perkins. i was optimistic about the signing, and am further heartened by the start. I hope he can continue his duchess as the data suggests he could. Being in a larger park really did help his performance. Imagine what a real major league outfielding defense could do. Not a high bar, but he has been the Twins' best pitcher this season. Even with the rotation shaping up over the last 3 weeks or so, he has continued to be their best pitcher.
  15. If you were going to throw a huge wad of money at a free agent already at the pinnacle of his career. .309/.355/.501 career with 14 games missed cumulatively since 2007, would be the player to do it with huh?
  16. I'm sure you're right, I think it's also a case of "veteran savvy player providing a quote to the media that's not offensive but sufficiently vague enough to keep him out of trouble". i just thought it was funny. Jamie: Kurt, you're batting something like .400 against one of the best pitchers in the game, how do you do it? Kurt: Well Jamie, I keep within myself and try not to do too much. Sconnie: No kidding Kurt, you're a slap hitter, that's what you do for every pitcher.
  17. Felix Hernandez being awesome, and poor fielding by Twins
  18. Nice throws by Santana. Too bad both plays too slow to develop.
  19. Gad-Zukes was quoted about his approach and prep for King Felix. To me it sounded like what he does for every pitcher.
  20. Hi praise to compare him to a Red Sox
