  1. Again, great stuff Parker. I hope Chris can continue to adapt and prove his readiness
  2. I think Escobar will (has) lock(ed) it down. I think the question is where do Nunez and Santana fit? I think Nunez is the bench IF, Santana bench OF/super utility.
  3. The only thing Santana has over Hicks is "Hustle". As we all know Gardy loves hustle and started Punto for years because of it. I like Santana's hustle too and I'd like to see him get some extended time at the bigs, moving all over the field. I think his effort will be an asset and his talent doesn't warrant kid gloves. He's not a special talent, so there's not much to destroy by bogging him down by being over matched. Hicks on the other hand, has a lot of talent, but has been mired in futility since 2013. I think Hicks needs to go to AAA, find his stroke and learn to play left field for when Buxton comes up. In the mean time, Mr. Hustle Santana and Fuld can figure out who a worthwhile 4th outfielder is to keep for 2015.
  4. 2 more starts in a row that are "quality starts" might save his job. That's all he gets.
  5. Man I hope so! It looks like they have. It also looks like Nunez is the utility guy.
  6. I got caught up in the "He's 2 years removed from TJ surgery; they've invested while he's injured, time to reap the benefits" fallacy. I was wrong, as was the FO. There's nothing wrong with taking a risk if you are willing to accept the consequences. It was a risk to sign Pelf tom 2 year contract. Nothing wrong with it, if you're willing to accept that it was a mistake and move on. Eat the contract, it's 11 mil, a big chunk of $, but not insurmountable. the same with Correia. He was the most reliable pitcher on the roster last year, and the contract looked good. This season, not so much. So you gambled and lost, nothing wrong with it if you "know when to hold'em know when to fold'em know when to walk away and know when to run" time to fold regarding Correia and Pelfrey
  7. It looked like the tag was missed
  8. Mauer picked off... Here comes the review
  9. Escobar to lead off? Drop Dozier to 2?
  10. That's me on Monday! no more noon game threads at least during the work week
  11. like yesterday and the day before? Twins pitchers would have been better off putting it on a Tee for Mr. Ortiz.
  12. Napoli is a pretty good hitter, but doubles become singles with Ortiz on the base paths. I would pitch to Napoli before I pitch to Ortiz, every time. I prefer the unintentional, intentional walk to Ortiz more often than not, especially if there is one on or none. One, two run home run, or two, one run home runs. What's the difference? On the other hand, an easy double play can negate both.
  13. So the trick to hitting success is changing facial hair... Just cut Cola right now
  14. There should be an "agree" button. I hate your post and almost hit "like" because I agree with you, and this is way too much typing
  15. 3 teams in the AL with more errors...
  16. Or if he/she goes up the stairs rather than out the front door
