  1. I think he's overwhelmed. His metrics are terrible but those things change. Progress can happen when he's ready, but he's not. The manager and GM have taken to calling him out in the media. That level of frustration indicates to me (beyond poor judgement by management) that Hicks isn't getting it through his skull. Send him to AAA to get his head and swing together and work on fielding.
  2. This is why I was POed when they DFA'd Mastro to begin with. It's not that I like Mastro, just no confidence in Hicks yet. I am hopeful AAA can solve it, but the way this season is going, Hicks will just struggle the whole season at the bigs and never progress.
  3. Nolasco has to be done after the inning right?
  4. I too hope Twins don't extend him until after the trade deadline. If the Twins can swing a good trade, go for it. I wouldn't mind seeing Fryer backing up Pinto for the rest of the season if it brings back a decent prospect.
  5. Eric Pleiss' article explains exactly why his BABIP dropped like a rock very well. Pitchers have figured him out. Maybe he figures it out, but Eric's article posit's it's bat speed. I agree and bat speed is tough to improve
  6. How about not throwing the fastball down the middle?
  7. Good deal, the hitting will become instantly much deeper. Hopefully Hammer and Arcia come back mashing
  8. There's 13 pitchers, let them each have a turn
  9. 100 runs 100 RBI for Dozier? Nice thought...
  10. I assumed Arcia would replace the 13th pitcher, Willingham to aggravate his wrist and be put on the 60
  11. I am hopeful for in depth analysis upcoming, but maybe this is evidence of the coaches and hitters trying to out maneuver the scouting reports.
  12. Indeed, I wonder how long until he gets optioned.
  13. Tough to be critical of the guy. Pitched well outside of the short stretch right after the Hernandez deal.
  14. Colabello, 3 outs on 5 pitches before being subbed
  15. Deduno has a quality start. Not that it really matters, but going 6 had been a challenge.
  16. You never want to trade the players who bring the best return, and always want to trade the players return the least. Zuke had been fun to watch, played very well. If he'll net a good return, trade him. There's depth behind Zuke and Pinto.
  17. You said what I meant much better than I could possibly hope to. Thank you
  18. I didn't mean to imply that Jamie Hersch is somehow part of a devious plot. She was just doing her job.
  19. It should, it's difficult to be effective without being intentional.
  20. It's possible, but come on! We've heard the prep this and prep that from the FO all week.
