  1. As someone dealing with a wrist sprain that seems to get worse instead of better as I wait for it to heal I understand how much time these things take. Especially in joints that get lots of movement even when we don't think we are moving them. This is sad - Festa and SWR have hopefully gotten their one allowed horrible game out of the way and settle down or Lopez and Mathews coming back at the end of the season won't matter. And I need to add that Ober better get back to what we expect of him.
  2. I am not a fan of Cartaya. Diaw is too young and still has some proving to do.
  3. Where is Cosetti in the Catcher ranks? I will remain puzzled by the Adams demotion and the flailing arm of Alcala in the majors. Something is wrong here.
  4. Breathe taking! So the first game back routine started by Festa is now a regular event.
  5. Nicely done - good choices. It might be heresy, but Liriano 2006 pushes Santana (close) but Santana wins.
  6. He has sustained a replacement level performance in the majors and that is all we really need from him. I do not think he was in AAA long enough to learn what is needed and his last appearance was not a confidence booster. If he fails again, Morris seems next in line.
  7. Wait and see - he has hit well. If he is slowing down it could just be a small slump - who really knows. But when Keaschall returns or Eeles come up he would seem to be next in line.
  8. The only thing I care about is who is next to be called up if we have a problem with the current five. When you write Soto is a long way off I roll my eyes and think, injuries, lack of progression - so many issues possible. Prielipp looks like a BP fix soon, Morris is interesting and must be the next rotation filler. But the way shoulders and elbows are going that it not enough.
  9. I know - you are the second one to want to burst my bubble - but I am hanging on to hope.
  10. You have to be given a chance to shine when you are 21 - Eeles had to struggle to get signed and to get recognition. I still like the comp - even if it is just based on being short.
  11. After SWR who is next? If Festa or SWR falters, if another injury do we still have pitching depth? Sending down Adams seemed strange. With this rotation having a multi-inning options seems like a good idea.
  12. Yes, he could replace Bride. I would like to see him called up and given an extensive run to show what he can do. Maybe we have our own Altuve.
  13. I asked this last week not anticipating the injuries we have not had - but who are the next three in line to be SP if needed?
  14. both he and SWR should be in the pen instead of Funderburk and Alcala!
  15. One game - not enough to judge the pitcher. Note that the rotation have all had clunker games - it happens. Stick with Festa, bring up SWR or Adams and have them in the pen, ready to piggyback or step in if anyone falters.
  16. Wow. Sorry for Festa. Alcala did what I posted yesterday. He looks promising for a couple games and then implodes. Bottom of the pen is not good. Glad to see Wallner back in the lineup. Twins were terrible. Then they were great. And now 50,-50 which are they?
  17. I have to join the chorus of NOsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!. Have you looked at how many RP we use in each game? We have played 61 games - Varland has already been in 31 and Duran and Jax 29. And Sands 27. Do you really want us to have a weaker BP every other day when Varland and Jax are not available. Stewart has had too many injuries to completely depend on him. Coloumbe is already injured. Alcala or Funderburk are not pitchers I want to be regularly in high pressure situations. Topa I do not know, but overall I do not want the pecking order changed and lower level RP moving up.
  18. No better arms for Lewis to get going. A's RP is not pitching - they are for batting practice. But when I hear 0 - 32 for Lewis I think any hit against anyone is important and I loved his smile - get his enthusiasm back and the bat will follow.
  19. Morris is a disappointment so far this year and would not be on my list. I am very impressed with Wichita's SP - they seem to have a better rotation that ST Paul so far. Who will take Festa's place in St Paul. As I asked in another thread - who are the next three pitchers ready for call up now that Festa is up?
  20. I am looking forward to Festa's return - not Pablo's absence. This not moves us down the list is SWR next in line? Where is Morris - his era is over 4 in AAA (Raya and Lewis have not had good seasons so far)? Can someone give me the next three? Is Adams ready? Does someone in Wichita look ready? Their stats are very good. Bader and France and Clemens have really been good pickups - of the three I think Bader has the staying power. I love the way he plays and the enthusiasm he shows. Still wondering why Bride is on the roster, but otherwise the team is going great and WIlli Castro is competing for team MVP again. One random thought - I would not sit Wallner no matter who is pitching.
  21. He has had many good games - the problem is that his bad games are awful and too frequent.
