  1. I thought this was a joke. If anything we should try and extend Ryan and Ober. Not trade them away. Maybe entertain a trade of one of our other up and coming pitchers like Festa or Matthews.
  2. Shoulda coulda got a hitting coach that doesn't just swing for power but also play some small ball. I've been following the Mariners since they dropped their long time coach and went with Dan Wilson and Edgar Martinez as their hitting coach. Now they play small ball as well as hit for contact. Less swing and miss off power swings, more putting the ball in play and manufacturing runs. It's exactly what we need. New strategies, new coaches.
  3. The Mariners were having the same issues. Too much swing and miss, no baserunning, etc. They had enough and hired on some previous players Dan Wilson and Edgar Maritinez. Since then they have risen in the ranks of hitting, baserunning and scoring. All of which takes pressure off pitchers which has them pitching their best.
  4. It's mostly swinging at stuff below or outside the zone. I know it's easier said then done but when we were good last season we had been hitting fastballs and laying off breaking stuff or chasing. Now every team knows just to pitch us breaking stuff or offspeed.
  5. I think the hitting coaches in the minors have them put the ball in play more. The rest of the guys could use some of that strategy. Hitting for power is all good when you are getting contact but if not it's just swing and miss and fly outs.
  6. Maybe if he starts proving he can hit then he could possibly try catching again. Could he be on a redemption tour like France?🤞
  7. It's time to rebuild. Convince Correa to accept a trade (maybe Buxton too) then Lopez and Vasquez. Have a losing season to draft high and get some good pitching prospects. We can't afford to be a middle of the pack team with bad draft seating to get mediocre prospects. We need top prospects.
  8. Let go out and find some better hitting/pitching staff. Or just fire Baldelli and hopefully whomever his replacement is will hire on new staff.
  9. The Twins have the highest payroll yet the 2nd worst record in the division. It might be time to start shopping Correa around before the trade deadline. The payroll is why no one is buying the team. We gotta clean house before anyone is buying.
  10. I don't think much of his decisions are the "right" ones. I've kinda given up on the success of my favorite team. I think the players feel the vibe and are also down. Come trade deadline we should just move on from the big 2-3 who never play, or just flat out under perform.
  11. The whole division is almost the same right now. 2-4 - 2-5. Maybe some need to try out torpedo bats. Or just try swinging for contact once in a while instead of for power.
  12. Castellano probably just wanted to play for another team, he will most likely be swept up quickly by a contending team and end up being an ace.
  13. Man it's like a reoccurring bad dream. Yet another leg injury to our star player. And he wonders why they don't want him stealing bases and all.
  14. When you got some serious financial restrictions it's not easy to find a serious power hitter. I think they are gonna get by this year with the trio of right hand power hitters they already have Correa Buck and RL.
  15. Someone should also be fired for letting Headrick go instead of Funderburk. We lost a real difference maker. Maybe one of the worse decisions made in recent Twins history.
  16. Players like Paddack could have been moved or SWR. Festa might have one of the better seasons if he remains in the lineup.
  17. I'm hopeful France will be as good as he was before injuries. He's got the skills, and at 1M can't complain. He's a grinder.
  18. With so many games and physical requirements it's hard to stay on field. Just running bases is a hazard because of the bases themselves causing ankle injuries.
  19. Sometimes it's best to just take an out than try and push too hard and get injured. An out has you out that at bat, while an injury has you out for weeks or months.
  20. We got plenty of good offense, just need to stay healthy. Especially the big 3 of Lewis, Correa and Buxton.
  21. Sounds like he was sent to Cleveland on the headline.
  22. If we get anything close to the 23' season then we're good. He's a good defender while playing for Seattle. I was surprised they let him go, he ended up being the martar for their loss of offense. But it was a systemic issue, hopefully we get the all star France.
  23. Idk about Miranda who doesn't have much experience at first. It's more likely he is used as a platoon player around the infield or DH.
  24. A lot of successful teams don't play for power each time they hit, it's about contact hitting and getting the ball in play.
