  1. Hes got the power already, I think his "hard" swing is why he strikes out so much. If he'd square up more and tamper down his leg kick he'd be more productive.
  2. A trade package should net some serious talent in return. If he decides that he wants to finally compete for a World Series title he will ask for a trade. The main trade destination would be Atlanta, GA. Some experienced players could be returned.
  3. Why Lawyerson? Its not a surprise he was claimed quickly. We got a front office that is useless.
  4. Probably also came down to money. Usually always does. Joe and Co. don't seem to know how to make a profitable investment or structure into a team. If they want to make money you need to win games. Or at least be fun to watch. If we did this after last season maybe we might have had different success and people would have come to watch. At least most of the other MN teams bring in decent coaches.
  5. Hopefully the Pohlands will sell after the CBA lockout eventually happening. Then the new owners will give a damn and make some real changes. Scott Servais would have brought some stability, Flaherty and Rowson would have brought some change, we just went to Baldellis mentor and who he modeled his game after. Forever changing lineups and substitutions.
  6. Was hoping for Servais. His time in Seattle was their best pitching years. But I guess they just wanted more of the same instead of something new!
  7. He should absolutely work on his speed. He's got good bat to ball skills, just needs to get a little more athletic!
  8. If he can add more velocity to his fastball hed be even better. Most of the year hovering around 90mph is not ideal to have success in the majors.
  9. A lot of the moves could have waited till this off-season. Because there's more time to negotiate the returns are better. If we trade Joe it better be for multiple top 100 players or 2 top 100 and one or two depth pieces that can be used right away. Just not another roden or outman.
  10. If he was on a Cal Raleigh schedule, meaning 4-5 games and one day off then he'd have had an even better season. I just didnt get Roccos justification to have the catcher(s) only catch one day rotations. He's obviously our best bet at the everyday catcher. With Gasper as backup. If we extend him for 3-4 years it'll work with the timeline of Tait.
  11. Lee shouldn't be on the list. Yes he struggled at times but it was his first full season. If he makes some swing changes this off-season he can come back better. Same with Julien. Julien had been swinging a better bat when he was getting more consistent playing time.
  12. You add all of them. Might end up having to release some other players to make room but its a must. All have very good potential. And several are from trades that would be wasted not to add them.
  13. Even as he proved to be a very good lhp hitter Baldelli would bench him. He had a more productive season than Wallner. Less HRs but more hits and RBIs. The constant platooning of him though would make him cool off when hed be on a hot streak.
  14. Hopefully with the CBA negotiations teams will have a minimum and maximum salary cap. We're well below the average salary, when we did have the average salary we made it past the wild card round and into the divisional. The league should have forced Joe to sell the team.
  15. We should start scouting for the #1-#3 pick in next years draft class. We'll have good picks throughout the draft due to the poor season we had. With all the good young talent in our system there is good things to look forward to.
  16. Outman, Lewis and Walley need to get some extra swing coaching this off-season. I assume since we traded for so many lefty outfielder bats we plan on losing at least Larnach. I believe Gabby Gonzalez is rule 5 draft eligible so we need to add him to the 40 man to keep him.
  17. There's a reason why most of the players traded are playing better under their new managers because they are BETTER managers. Rocco didnt hold players accountable or keep any consistency in the lineups and batting orders. Pushing players and brining back players before theyre ready to play healthy has made more missed time from our stars. Players like Walley and Lewis could have been best served by sending them to the minors to work on their swings but instead kept them in the lineup to keep struggling, almost breaking Royce in the process.
  18. I think Justin Morneau would be a good hitting coach. Maybe Nelson Cruz as Manager.
  19. Part of the success is having consistent playing time. With Baldellis constant changes in the lineups and batting orders no players really had consistent success. I think 1-5 should stay the same with minor tweaks throughout the season, and 6-9 small platoon changes. It matters to players having repetition and consistency.
  20. If we're talking raw power yes hes one of our better power hitters, but the stance and leg kick make him susceptible to missing high and low pitches. If he cleans that up his strikeout rate will lower too.
  21. If we make the right draft choices and stop drafting short stops and look to dominate pitchers we can save money that way. I think if Festa can be moved to the pen he or Zebby can be closers.
  22. It wasn't just that series. And I mostly blame Baldelli for last year's collapse and this year's flouder of a season. We lost series to the "worst" teams in baseball, and mediocre ones that were on fire by the time we played them. It seems bad luck and poor lineups and pitching substitutions are to blame in my mind!
  23. I say we get a top 3 pick in next year's draft so we don't need more "prospects" we need more MLB ready players.
  24. We need a manager that will create a solid lineup and only make small tweaks (not batting orders) depending on who's on the mound. Baldellis incessantly changing the lineup and batting order every single game just doesn't keep any consistency in the production. Buck should really be 2nd or 3rd. I think Baldeill should have been replaced after last year's late season collapse, but now we're forced to watch an entire year of this inconsistency next season as well.
