With our needs of righty bats why haven't we called him up to try out at the major league level?

Its definitely Baldelli. If we had serious owners we would have fired him after the complete failure at the end of last year, and mostly through this year. They are too MN nice. We tried a reset but its gonna continue to stay the same until we hire on a new manager.

A Twins Fan’s Tanking Guide for the Rest of 2025
AKTwinsFan replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The amount of cap space dictated this past draft since the Mariners had a better record than we did and they won the lottery with the 3rd overall pick. Its kind of a sham though since they were the biggest buyers at the deadline. Picking up the 2 biggest bats. So with all the cap space we should have cleared up we should have greater odds at landing a top 3 pick. -
Both Matthews and Adams struggled to throw strikes. Lucky it wasn't a blowout by the 3rd-4th inning. Baldelli and Borgshulte need to rethink the hitting on the team. Using the whole field is needed. We're too pull heavy.

Well if Joe uses the money from the minority stakes to pay off the debt then reinvest in the payroll and success of the team things might turn around. The final side of it is finding a NEW manager. Fans are tired of the mindless lineup changes and pitching management. If we go the Brewers way and poach a seasoned manager who knows how to take a non power team and use their other strengths to win, fans will rejoice. If you win, they will come!

Only Baldelli would have Martin, who's been one of our best hitters, try and throw down a bunt for a squeeze play. Oh and BTW it only works if you catch the other team off guard. So after the first failure any decent manager would have him hit. We would have had at least two shots at brining Roden in off two of our best hitters in Martin and Buck.

I think Zebby just tries to be a little too perfect after 2 outs. Ends up leaving too much over the plate. He's gotta try to live more on the edges after 2 outs.

The point was to ease the burden of the ever increasing value and paychecks of the pitchers and players. Arbitration is contingent on the players performance and value, Duran and Jax probably along would be upwards of $15M. The returns less than $2M with high upside. If you look at it in this prospective then it's all an A or B in return. I don't like trading Stewart and Varland though. Those could have been our closers.

Most of it was a complete salay dump, probably requested or prompted by the new prospective owners.

Correa will be left with an opportunity to ask for a trade given his no trade clause in his contract. We got 2 players who take up most of our salary and neither seem to be productive at the same time. Lewis is finally getting his confidence back so we gotta get some return players who can compliment his game.

Minnesota Twins 2025 Trade Deadline Primer
AKTwinsFan replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think if any Castro, Coulumbe, Bader (still a year left on a 2 year!), and maybe Jax or Duran. No Ryan, we should only look to extend him.- 62 replies

Seems like when we were getting runs we had Larnach and France in there getting hits. Then Baldelli put a stop to that just like he does with every hot player. If we had better owners and front office hed been gone after last season.

I think with 2 years left each then we should get 2 prospects (each). Both are some of the best in baseball, and some of the biggest reasons why we've been relavent the past few years. So if we dont plan on being in the mix the next few years then we give them up. I think Coulumbe is the odd man out and can net at least a decent prospect in return.

Sell short term rentals. I don't like trading Castro but it's logical at this point. We can get some bats in return and try to pull off a Tigers 2024 sell and run to playoffs. Ryan, Jax and Duran should not be on the table unless we dont plan on being in the mix the next few seasons.

We need to target a real top prospect or young catcher with some potential to replace Vasquez after this season. Idk how Gasper will do but we need a solid backup for Jeffers going forward.

Only ones I'd sell are ones with expiring contracts (rentals). Losing Bader and Castro wouldn't work out well for MN if we plan on being a wild card race team. Columbe would be who id consider. Move Jax to starter next season to replace Paddack.

The continued proverbial shooting of the foot is sad. If we had a smarter front office and management, we'd practice more catcher/pitcher fielding. Jeffers just couldn't resist picking up that ball on the edge of rolling foul, which ended up giving up 2 runs! Our batting/hitting coach isn't doing much better than Popkins at getting our boys some hits. We need a batting coach that knows how to teach more contact style baseball. We lack hitting when it's needed. Especially our star players. Then comes the first pitch swings which lead to a 8 pitch, 7 pitch, 6 pitch and 5 pitch innings. All which was obvious our manager wasn't doing his job. Idk what the strategy was, to try and end the inning the fastest?

Even if there's a lefty on the mound Vasquez should not be playing unless it's been like 7-8 games. He just has lost his edge. Instead of putting the ball in play he just routinely grounds out or fly out. It didnt help Paddack seemed to have to shake off some serious rust over the past weeks break.

I say extend Ryan, look to maybe deal Columbe. Duran and Jax are too valuable to the success of Minnesota for a post season run. With Detroit losing their last 4 games of the season we can start off the second half with another 10+ winning streak. Things could get interesting if Matthew's and Lopez return soon. Gabriel Gonzalez might be a trade piece for any acquisitions.
