  1. Boils down to the Twins seeming long-time philosophy to strive for 85 wins and hope to win a very weak division. Never actually going for it, means nothing drastic ever changes. This team went 70-79 last season against teams that didn't set a major league record for losses in season. And they all looked at each other and said...yeah, let's run it back.
  2. I guess, I'm just looking from the standpoint of Trevor Larnach being a very serious non-tender candidate. A 28 year old bat-only player with a career 99 OPS+. He BETTER feel like he's in the hot seat because it should be. Luke should be receiving most of the playing time at DH, meaning Larnach will be forced to play in the OF, something he's done very poorly and increasingly less frequently.
  3. Larnach on the hot seat. If Luke hits and Larnach continues to falter, he's basically done as a Twin.
  4. Yep. He blew calls that favored the Mets by about a run. Baseball Gods trying to make sure there was some balance with the Wendelstedt error.
  5. ...because they're not at all comparable. Yet here you are comparing them again.
  6. Again, why do you give a ****? As many times as you compare player A to player B, and then claim you're not comparing them, the reality is you're comparing them. There's no evidence to suggest Keirsey is some late bloomer that just needs a real chance. And pointing at a 20 year old superstar doesn't help your case man.
  7. There was clear video showing him off the bag. Why whine after a win on a correct call? Don't forget the Twins were also gifted a run on a clearly wrong call too.
  8. Homeplate umpire has been iffy, but then the Twins were gifted a run on that blown call at first.
  9. Nah. Everyone in the top half of the league should run on Edwin. He's absolutely awful at holding runners. That base was stole, he just couldn't hang onto the bag with that sliding glove. I never remember hand injuries to be such an issue, but there are so many players sliding past 2B because of the lack of dexterity. I just doubt it's worth that tradeoff.
  10. Twins get the home field advantage back on the umpiring. Wendelstedt blew that one. See how many runs its adds up to.
  11. Love how vindicated I've been in championing him after his signing. I never miss!
  12. That neither contradicts what I said, nor back up what you said. Dude was a great prospect and played pretty good as a rookie. And like I said, break those 150 PAs by thirds and that middle third he had an OPS of 1.300. You think Twins fans wouldn't be thrilled if Jenkins came up and hit like an MVP for a month? The peripherals were all there and results were sporadic but the promise was clear. You're comparing a 19 year old to a 28 year old. This is completely nonsensical and like I said, makes you sound completely unserious. Why the hell do you give a ****?
  13. Twins have had the homefield advantage in the series prior (+0.36 Runs). More than made up for that slim advantage with these calls so far.
  14. Buxton gotta do more against a AAAA pitcher in that spot. But at least he's healthy.
  15. Castro really fell off a cliff. Hitting 214/297/315 since July 1st. He might struggle to get a major league contract next offseason.
  16. Which is why Vlad signing an extension is great news for him. The Mets will likely try to sign a similar contract but, again, as the premier 1B on the market, he should expect a bit more attention. Especially if he continues this unbelievable run he's on right now for any extended duration.
  17. They didn't really. It's just that there was no other market for him and he (and Boras) refused to admit this so they just kept waiting and hoping a market developed.
  18. He almost broke someone's leg in Spring Training because of his incompetence at the position. I'm sorry but that's just not true.
  19. The fact he left an at-bat in a 0-2 count and they're trying to pass it off as no big deal is beyond bizarre to me.
  20. Before last night, the Twins were one of the healthiest teams in the league. Changed in a hurry.
  21. Not even saying I think they should hire him, but worth noting the ancillary benefits of someone like JD Martinez on the roster, as a mentor. He was credited a lot as a leader in the Mets clubhouse during their turnaround last year, helping Mark Vientos in the batting cage, and helping players to loosen up and have fun. He REALLY struggled at the end of the season however.
  22. Sounds like Mets might be throwing Justin Hagenman for his MLB debut. He's never really been a prospect, was a 23rd round draft pick, but one of those players that worked hard to get to AAA and toughed it out enough to finally get a call to the show after parts of 4 seasons. Good for him, and his opponent so beat up today they nearly look like a AAA lineup. Plus the attendance will resemble a AAA park.
  23. Mets booth spending the inning to celebrate Rod Carew.
  24. I don't really care about the cheating much. But my goodness any twins fan that booed Altuve while cheering Correa really is the biggest dope.
  25. Simply shocking that the Twins haven't had a 100 RBI guy, or even a 100 R guy, since the pandemic. That's really, really bad.
