  1. Nah, this fear is way overblown. The United States government illegally detaining/deporting latinos is a way bigger threat to the league than a labor agreement.
  2. This doesn't seem at all fair. The Twins aren't failing to develop players because Harrison Bader is on the roster. They're failing to develop players because their scouting and/or coaching are bad. It's completely independent of one year veteran contracts. Austin Martin wasn't a terrible player last season because Kyle Farmer was on the team. Trevor Larnach isn't a career 100 OPS+ guy because Harrison Bader is rostered. Jose Miranda doesn't have a 100 career OPS+ because Donovan Solano was on the 2023 team. Teams hire veterans to fill out rosters, and any team that wants to actually win SHOULD. This isn't some cause for pitchforks to the Twins Front Office, and this is coming from a guy that wants to fire them all.
  3. I think you're reading into this point too much. No one's saying to ignore the 12 wins. But it is important context to the actual quality of the 2024 Twins season. Yes, the Twins DID have a good stretch in the middle of the season. But anyone that was truly paying attention also knew that it was largely a mirage. Like that 12 game win streak? 7 were against the White Sox. All this to say the 2024 Twins were pretty bad. And the 2025 are, unsurprisingly, worse.
  4. This is incredibly disingenuous, as the Yankees would only have 67 losses with those 83 wins. A darn good record still. The Dodgers would likewise be 85-61... Now how does that Twins 70-79 record look ignoring the games against the White Sox last season? Or this season's 5-14?
  5. Not necessarily true. Baseball is uniquely situated to be presented well in vertical video format ie TikTok.
  6. I noticed Citi Field opened up two or more of the clubs this season that used to be "exclusive" to certain attendees. It makes the stadium feel more equitable and less like it's a playground for the wealthier population. A very small thing, but it makes the stadium that much more welcoming to the community.
  7. But we at least agree that complaining about moving around the lineup is just complaining for complaining sake?
  8. Alright. We agree then. It's fine that Rocco used 154 different lineups and not at all indicative of anything.
  9. In hindsight, it was a mistake to sign a player to a massive contract after two other organizations canceled an agreement due to health concerns. Only $129 Million left on that bad boy.
  10. Very, very interesting behind the curtain look about how thin skinned the Twins Organization seems to be. Hearing Aaron Gleeman gets calls from the team after a critical article is pathetic.
  11. But how on earth did they play up to their potential if they were constantly being shuffled in, out, and around the lineup? Based on your comment you don't think that should be possible. Excuses. Excuses.
  12. Is that why the Tigers with their incredibly young talent and 155 different lineups really struggled at the end of the season? Wait...hmmm...never mind. What I see with most of these players is just a mediocre player that is not confident because they don't quite have the talent to be anything more than a marginally above replacement level player. It's not because Rocco is unfair to them. I'm firmly on the Fire Rocco bandwagon, but blaming him for middling prospects coming up and playing exactly how we should expect is not why. And I don't really hate on Larnach or Miranda for being a marginal player. Players like them have roles in more complete teams, but Falvey has failed to build such a squad.
  13. This is repeated over and over on this site, and it always sounds like the lamest excuse. So-and-so keeps being played out of their natural position or moved around in the order, how are they supposed to get comfortable?! They're major league baseball players and most every major leaguer is expected to be flexible. Outside of the true STARS of the league and catchers, no major leaguer should feel like they get to play one position and/or have a set place in the lineup. And the Minnesota Twins have only one star, and he's actually playing like complete ****. My primary team, the Mets, had one of the most incredible seasons last year, in terms of team chemistry, entertainment, and vibes. They used 143 different lineups and had 11 players play multiple positions in the field. This isn't some great failing by Rocco. Now, you could try to make the argument that this sort of management has to be paired with a great leader that is able to strongly communicate both team and player goals and expectations, but that's an unknowable. He probably sucks at it, but we have no way of knowing outside of speculation.
  14. Boils down to the Twins seeming long-time philosophy to strive for 85 wins and hope to win a very weak division. Never actually going for it, means nothing drastic ever changes. This team went 70-79 last season against teams that didn't set a major league record for losses in season. And they all looked at each other and said...yeah, let's run it back.
  15. I guess, I'm just looking from the standpoint of Trevor Larnach being a very serious non-tender candidate. A 28 year old bat-only player with a career 99 OPS+. He BETTER feel like he's in the hot seat because it should be. Luke should be receiving most of the playing time at DH, meaning Larnach will be forced to play in the OF, something he's done very poorly and increasingly less frequently.
  16. Larnach on the hot seat. If Luke hits and Larnach continues to falter, he's basically done as a Twin.
  17. Yep. He blew calls that favored the Mets by about a run. Baseball Gods trying to make sure there was some balance with the Wendelstedt error.
  18. ...because they're not at all comparable. Yet here you are comparing them again.
  19. Again, why do you give a ****? As many times as you compare player A to player B, and then claim you're not comparing them, the reality is you're comparing them. There's no evidence to suggest Keirsey is some late bloomer that just needs a real chance. And pointing at a 20 year old superstar doesn't help your case man.
  20. There was clear video showing him off the bag. Why whine after a win on a correct call? Don't forget the Twins were also gifted a run on a clearly wrong call too.
  21. Homeplate umpire has been iffy, but then the Twins were gifted a run on that blown call at first.
  22. Nah. Everyone in the top half of the league should run on Edwin. He's absolutely awful at holding runners. That base was stole, he just couldn't hang onto the bag with that sliding glove. I never remember hand injuries to be such an issue, but there are so many players sliding past 2B because of the lack of dexterity. I just doubt it's worth that tradeoff.
  23. Twins get the home field advantage back on the umpiring. Wendelstedt blew that one. See how many runs its adds up to.
  24. Love how vindicated I've been in championing him after his signing. I never miss!
