  1. That neither contradicts what I said, nor back up what you said. Dude was a great prospect and played pretty good as a rookie. And like I said, break those 150 PAs by thirds and that middle third he had an OPS of 1.300. You think Twins fans wouldn't be thrilled if Jenkins came up and hit like an MVP for a month? The peripherals were all there and results were sporadic but the promise was clear. You're comparing a 19 year old to a 28 year old. This is completely nonsensical and like I said, makes you sound completely unserious. Why the hell do you give a ****?
  2. Twins have had the homefield advantage in the series prior (+0.36 Runs). More than made up for that slim advantage with these calls so far.
  3. Buxton gotta do more against a AAAA pitcher in that spot. But at least he's healthy.
  4. Castro really fell off a cliff. Hitting 214/297/315 since July 1st. He might struggle to get a major league contract next offseason.
  5. Which is why Vlad signing an extension is great news for him. The Mets will likely try to sign a similar contract but, again, as the premier 1B on the market, he should expect a bit more attention. Especially if he continues this unbelievable run he's on right now for any extended duration.
  6. They didn't really. It's just that there was no other market for him and he (and Boras) refused to admit this so they just kept waiting and hoping a market developed.
  7. He almost broke someone's leg in Spring Training because of his incompetence at the position. I'm sorry but that's just not true.
  8. The fact he left an at-bat in a 0-2 count and they're trying to pass it off as no big deal is beyond bizarre to me.
  9. Before last night, the Twins were one of the healthiest teams in the league. Changed in a hurry.
  10. Not even saying I think they should hire him, but worth noting the ancillary benefits of someone like JD Martinez on the roster, as a mentor. He was credited a lot as a leader in the Mets clubhouse during their turnaround last year, helping Mark Vientos in the batting cage, and helping players to loosen up and have fun. He REALLY struggled at the end of the season however.
  11. Sounds like Mets might be throwing Justin Hagenman for his MLB debut. He's never really been a prospect, was a 23rd round draft pick, but one of those players that worked hard to get to AAA and toughed it out enough to finally get a call to the show after parts of 4 seasons. Good for him, and his opponent so beat up today they nearly look like a AAA lineup. Plus the attendance will resemble a AAA park.
  12. Mets booth spending the inning to celebrate Rod Carew.
  13. I don't really care about the cheating much. But my goodness any twins fan that booed Altuve while cheering Correa really is the biggest dope.
  14. Simply shocking that the Twins haven't had a 100 RBI guy, or even a 100 R guy, since the pandemic. That's really, really bad.
  15. He's hotter than he's ever been since his Rookie of the Year 2019 season.
  16. Interesting tidbit, the Mets starter for tomorrow, Canning, has been scratched. No clue who they're gonna throw now.
  17. Honestly, yeah. An 88 win team in the AL is basically 50/50 to win the pennant. C'est La Vie
  18. Those things are not mutually exclusive. And that's kind of the point of DEI. He was 100% a DEI hire, and your confusion is sizable portion of the country poisoning the well surrounding innocuous terms like DEI, CRT, Woke, etc. Anyways, I sense a big game for #42 tonight!
  19. I don't ever remember this level of talent discrepancy between leagues as these last couple leagues, but I guess I've never really followed both the NL and AL as closely before.
  20. Unless Plouffe is in there. He livens up the booth so much the few times I've heard him. I'm basically fully done with Morneau. The monotone delivery and strict adherence to being a Twins Company Man. I much preferred LaTroy the other day I watched, and I don't particularly like him either. Gary, Keith, and Ron are happy to criticize the Mets, fairly, and their respect of the opponent is always nice to see. Last night Gary paid a lot of respect to Buxton and her perseverance through his litany of career injuries. I'd never heard his injuries listed out in such a manner and it really made me respect Buxton a lot more than I typically do. Plus the chemistry after nearly two decades has enhanced the product, as opposed to certain other analysts that become disinterested and curmudgeon (Bert).
  21. Whoa! They got the best in the business after Scully retired.
  22. Prior to the trade deadline 2024, this was a tough question. But that week made the direction and management of each franchise clear and I haven't been even slightly torn in rooting interest in their two series since. This Twins team is bad. Not quite as bad as their record, but bad nonetheless. And they were bad last year too. Always like to remind people they were 70-79 against teams that weren't the worst team in major league history. And that record is now 73-90 including this season. Time to blow it up. Striving for mediocrity isn't working, and they've officially lost the fans meaning it's time to do something bold.
  23. Talk like this is how fans become so disappointed in prospects. He wasn't anywhere near a top prospect in all of baseball. He was top 5 in a middle of the pack farm system. Which is good but no one should expect him to be Koufax. Less unwarranted hype and more appreciation of the actual level of player. I like Festa, and I think he offers a good matchup against Canning. But he's also similarly likely to go 3 and give up 6.
  24. This is the sad reality of the Twins. The front office hyped up middling prospects as saviors and the fans gave them the benefit of the doubt. Miranda. Martin. Larnach. Lee. Julien. Even Wallner. These are all those players with a C or D rating in potential in The Show. You can't build a team around them but you can hope one or two pops and becomes a regular. Sadly the Twins are just filled with them while their premier prospects presented severe health issues. Window is closed. This organization should sell everything they can and play for 2027.
  25. Young? The median age for position players is something like 28. Trevor Larnach is 28. Is the median player young also?
