  1. I openly mocked him being ranked #5 on the prospect list. People will ignore results and just point at age for the level.
  2. You wanna pay him 5 yr/70M? Two years of arb plus 3 year FA? That's probably about what it takes.
  3. Yeah, even if you want to claim he's more like 40th best SP, which I think bean could more agree to, calling him top 30 isn't the most unreasonable claim. Seems perfectly in bounds. It's not like anyone's claimed the Twins have 3 #1s. Or at least in this thread. Feel like I have read exactly that from big homers here before. Allow me to throw some support to the Top 30 claim. Projections for the Rest of Season by fWAR: zips: 20th steamer: 17th oopsy: 33rd atc: 21st Now, these projection systems largely look at the same data with a similar method so it's not surprising that he'd be looked at favorably in all of them. But I think calling him Top 30 is perfectly reasonable.
  4. The next time you are feeling lazy and want to use AI I just hope you remember how hilariously bad it failed you this time, how inept it made you look, and how you were laughed at by all.
  5. So you think the Orioles should be sellers, and the trade you propose they take is to take on salary, trade away a hitter under control next season, and settle for a mediocre prospect.
  6. People freak out about a national writer writing think pieces about trade proposals because they deem them unfair, and then will propose really bad trades like this. Why in the hell would Baltimore make this trade?
  7. Not really. There were 11 RP all stars last season. 5 were among the leaders, another 4 were good closers, and 2 were just really good RP.
  8. He clearly isn't healthy and shouldn't be on the team right now.
  9. I can watch the Twins only once I'm done watching the Cardinals wrap up their business.
  10. Been saying that. I'd have traded him away this offseason for that reason. Best case scenario appears to be Joey Gallo, who lots of people refuse to admit was good but was always extremely frustrating.
  11. The president just pointed to a clear Photoshop and refused to admit it wasn't true. This is different in substance and scope obviously, but it's the same problem. Foolish people unable to discern reality. And it's a big ****ing problem.
  12. You used it for something very basic and when told you were wrong you doubled down and called it The Truth. This world, and especially the US, is living in a post truth world thanks to the type of laziness and lack of curiosity you displayed. **** AI. It's a trash tool for the least intellectual of society. Make amends, admit you were wrong both in substance and to use the tool as truth in the first place.
  13. Bader can hit 230/280/370 the rest of the season and his signing is still a massive success.
  14. Not to be too harsh, but we should 100% mock and ridicule the use of AI tools for this sort of thing. You wanna use it to draft up stupid work emails? Fine. But for any actual research or creative endeavor? Seriously, you need to be better than that.
  15. I don't see why a media figure writing a think piece is cause for scorn. Throwing out stupid trade proposals is the only fun part of watching a bad team. Mets Receive: Pablo Lopez Twins Receive: Brandon Sproat Jett Williams Ryan Clifford Now thrown me in CECOT.
  16. There's your problem. You're using the lazy machine. Try doing actual research instead of relying on a useless tool that makes **** up. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=keirsda01&t=b&year=2025 He's approximately the 400th best position player in the major leagues right now. He IS getting a fair shot. And he's squandered it even worse than his detractors could have imagined.
  17. Trade bait? To whom? And for what? You can get a AAA relief pitcher or a 4th OF I suppose.
  18. No matter how many times you keep repeating this, that doesn't make it true. He's started 7 games and the Twins won 3. No he doesn't. No one besides Keirsey wants to see that. Just take the L on this man. I love defense first OF, hence why I was championing the Bader signing so vigorously against all the folks here that are now eating crow. But Keirsey is just over matched and there is no reason for him to ever hold a bat in the major leagues ever again.
  19. That's fair. But so has Martin. I think they're both bad. I think Bride is marginally better due to his more impressive defense but he's still just a textbook replacement level player.
  20. He needs to hit for more power before he gets called up to AA. Until that happens, he's just a dime a dozen. I also think it's ridiculous to posit that he's the 1B of the future, but all prospect talk is nearly always a bit silly. But I think the benefit of a site like this IS the highlighting of prospects like Amick. I think he's a perfectly fine prospect. Ya, never know.
  21. Bride was a better hitter at every level of the minors. It stands to reason that he projects as a better hitter in the majors as well. Bride has more power whereas Martin will strikeout a little less. Close, but fair to say they both kinda suck with the bat. But Bride at least has the benefit that his defense has proven more passable than the butcher Austin Martin. Rooker is a very good example of a player that did earn his chance, repeatedly. He kept raking in AAA and kept getting chances as a result. McCusker has only 200 PAs in AAA so far. Let's not all pretend as though he's been sitting down there for years waiting for an opportunity. He's been there two months essentially. If he continues to hit, he'll get a chance. Fun little tidbit, he currently has 215 fewer plate appearances in the high minors than Brent Rooker did when he was first given a major league at bat. I'll be joining in the calls to call him if he keeps this up another 2-3 weeks. Right now? Eh, I can't be too bothered.
  22. The thing about Bride, is there's more reason to believe in him than Austin Martin. So, I'm OK keeping him around at the expense of players like Martin. But if McCusker improves upon his peripherals or just keeps smoking the ball for a longer period and Bride is the odd man out I don't think they'd really hesitate to cut him. As for the knowledge about Keirsey last season, I agree. But they also had dopey aspirations of crawling into the wildcard spot so they weren't really wanting to throw playing time at a player they didn't believe in (and now we see why). I just don't see a single Twins minor leaguer that was unfairly blocked in recent years because of an existing veteran on the roster, so I think this concern is all moot. I think the front office are bad at their jobs, but not so bad they will just pass on a clear upgrade opportunity. McCusker will get an opportunity if and when it's earned.
