  1. If Bader wasn't supplanting Austin Martin, this argument might hold water. Harrison Bader was the starting CF for an NLCS team last year and you folks are acting like he's a bum because he's taking playing time away from the kids. Were the 2024 Mets and the highest paid GM in baseball stupid to have Harrison Bader play 140 games in CF?
  2. So many here seem to have forgotten this.
  3. No. They absolutely could not have. This isn't a video game. You understand the players have agency, right? Pete Alonso wanted to remain a Met. And Boras worked out a deal to allow him to do so for a bit longer.
  4. You don't think the Twins signing a CF backup and general 4th OF affects last years primary backup CF and this years presumed 4th OF? K. What kids are you all talking about? Theres Rodriguez. And...
  5. What I'm seeing is lots of people here freaking out over a small free agent contract that improves the team because of assumptions they've made about the Twins budget based on vague comments to Aaron Gleeman.
  6. The past also tells us he's a career .250 hitter in the minors. Just like everyone's favorite player Joey Gallo.
  7. Yes. Very likely actually. If you're striking out in over 35% of your PAs your average is going to be very low.
  8. Alonso was NEVER signing with the Twins. And you're not going to get a hard payroll commitment during the offseason so you guys can play armchair GM more fittingly. Y'all are demanding impossibilities.
  9. You're demanding a high average from Bader while advocating the Twins play Rodriguez who would likely hit under 220.
  10. Not really. Last year Emmanuel Rodriguez was a consensus top 62 prospect and this year top 37. Merrill ranked no lower than 22nd and 17th in his two years before the show. Clearly an intriguing prospect, but a LOT of question marks about if his approach will play at the major league level.
  11. Sorry I saw the 2024 Twins for what they were. A bad team undeserving of limping into the playoffs and getting swept. Many here apparently hate the Twins way more than I do. I actually enjoyed seeing them improve yesterday and some of you all got upset they didn't spend their limited resources in the very narrow way you desired. OK. Fire Rocco. Fire Falvey. The Twins gave out a below league average non-controlled contract to a decent player that, without a doubt, improves the team in important ways and folks here are freaking out because they don't trust anyone in the organization to use him in a way they don't hate.
  12. Mets! Mets! Mets!
  13. No offense, but I won't be listening to the opinion on whether someone is a good baseball player or not from someone that just said that they don't care about half of the game of baseball.
  14. Hey man, if you're selling this season for future seasons that's an entirely different argument and I'm not opposed to that strategy either. I was under the impression people here wanted to improve the 2025. That's my bad.
  15. Well. There should be a new owner by June. Maybe they'll do everyone a favor and fire Rocco and Falvey mid season. Fingers crossed!
  16. Because I think Harrison Bader is better than either Martin or Keirsey, that actually means I'm betting money on him winning AL MVP.
  17. You mistake me knowing a signing improves a bad team for thinking a signing makes a bad team good. Feel free to go back and read every comment I made here. Never claimed he's a star. Even admitted that Austin Martin is very likely going to be a marginally better hitter next season. I'm just not delusional enough to think that taking playing time away from Austin Martin is a bad idea. So many people seem to have forgotten that defense is a part of baseball.
  18. Those two are much less risky players than Emmanuel. Chourio was the number 2 prospect in baseball for a reason, and Merrill was a defensive stud. I know a lot of people like Emmanuel on defense but when the scouting reports say "we think he'll be able to stick in CF for a bit" that usually means he's an average to below average fielder at the position.
  19. Because Martin also sucks on defense. Why are people here so unaware of this.?
  20. This is what the Tigers did. Some vets were bad so they just played the kids. Anyone acting like the Twins are handcuffed to Bader are just admitting Rocco should be fired immediately.
