  1. Regarding Brock Stewart, I frankly don't see why projection systems love a man that was plucked out of indy baseball 5 years ago and has since gone on to pitch to a total of 300 batters with a 1.25 WHIP. Strikeouts are a great skill to have, but if you can't do anything else as a pitcher what value are you to a team? So, for question 1, no, Brock Stewart is almost certainly not going to pitch 58 innings next season. And if he somehow does, it's not going to be with a 3.30 FIP.
  2. I'm well aware how you got that figure. I'm very comfortable with my analysis. Sorry you got mad at a number you don't like.
  3. There was reporting, by gleeman I believe, that they internally forecasted increased attendance as that is usually seen after playoff and general success. So why would we assume their revenue projections would be based on 2023 attendance? So I didn't assume 888 anything. And the reported attendance is one thing, but obviously people that don't show up in September can't buy beer. Do you think it's really outlandish that an incompetent front office (which I believe them to be) missed their own game day revenue projections by 20 million? 3K per game give or take? I agree with you in one regard! I'm guessing the 888 per person figure you're losing your mind over is probably about 10-12x higher than actual. 75-90? Seems possible. Could also be 60, or 120. We won't know until you get back to us with those revenue figures you've been meaning to ask them for.
  4. This is all just a weird nothing stat that means squat. The Mets changed hands 5 years ago and have since won 100 games and went to the NLCS. Did they lose against the Dodgers because of some weird ownership quirk? Did the Twins buck some meaningful hinderence in 1987?
  5. So true. It's probably owned by George Soros. Conservatives have been silenced in the media these days. That's what I heard on Fox News, Facebook, Twitter, and Joe Rogan.
  6. Do you think the Twins anticipated more people or less people to come to the ballpark after a playoff year? And we have no idea about their revenue figures because you still haven't called them for that analysis you've been asking for. Chop chop.
  7. Then just do it already. Jfc.
  8. You go ask the Twins, and at least 3 other mlb teams, for their books and get back to us on that.
  9. Great question. Correa and Buxton both still positives out there, but otherwise every other defender out there feels like either a negative or a question mark (Lee? Probably a positive?). Defense might not be doing the pitching staff any favors.
  10. How many mlb teams do you think have changed ownership in the last couple decades?
  11. None of anything that's written on this website NEEDS to be written. I found it very interesting, and although questionable in some inferences or conclusions, a far more engaging read than the fact that the bullpen is projected to be pretty good.
  12. Twins were reportedly *shocked* that attendance fell in 2024. Meaning they probably fell about 20 million short of their own internal game day revenue projections. Makes me smile.
  13. Oh, and don't forget Stewart and the Rule 5 guy. Though Stewart isn't really a concern. He's either on the IL or SHOULD be on the roster. But that's still 6 of the 8 spots that are basically inflexible. I'm gonna guess Rule 5 guy doesn't make it to May either.
  14. Even the actual best bullpen in baseball used 17 different relievers last season.
  15. Does Tonkin make it to May 1st before being DFA'd? Taking bets now.
  16. Truly, the inflation spike was painful to be sure, but the guys in charge of the levers did a really good job minimizing the damage.
  17. I don't know that I fully agree with this, although it is commonly believed. But there is no denying this country's rightward shift of the Overton window... EDIT: to remove off topic modern political discussion
  18. You're not off base. But this is also a team that tendered a contract to Tonkin. The Twins front office does not seem to be very adept at roster construction. The fact that the 40 man roster is already full is further evidence of that.
  19. Sure. Jax 4 years ago was worse than Varland last year. I thought I saw someone report that the Twins were going to, once again, stretch out Varland in ST, but I could be wrong about that. And I will never stop criticizing a team from disallowing a very good pitcher from pitching more innings just because he was bad 4 seasons ago. Bad teams make bad decisions...
  20. I asked you this a few weeks ago and I'll ask it again: why don't YOU do the analysis that you're asking for instead of asking why someone who wrote about something else entirely didn't write about the one thing you and you alone are asking for?
  21. As stated in the article, Twins Daily asked for this career retrospective. If you're going to discuss an evil billionaire that has gained, in part, his fortune through the failures and assistance of politics, both local and national, politics is going to be discussed. And asking for a moderator to shield your eyes from a link you willingly clicked is weird. My advice would be to just close the tab. Now, if politics comes up in a thread about the bullpen, that's another story.
  22. The only player on the Twins from 2018 is Buxton. And the only top 25 prospect on the team is Royce Lewis. You may as well write about what to look forward to in 2061 in the 100th season of Minnesota Twins Baseball.
  23. Twins are not, under any condition, paying 10 mil to a free agent bullpen arm which is what Yates and Robertson will get, minimum.
  24. That they keep trying to make him a starter while refusing to allow Jax another opportunity is indicative of a team that has no clue what they're doing.
  25. This is a very common and accepted principle. Around 2 percent inflation is a target for every educated economist. That's why inflation as a political weapon was a knowing lie during the last election, seeing as it was at 2.6%. Higher than you'd like to see, but not significantly so. However it rose again slightly to 2.9% in the last report.
