  1. Dogs and ponies are fun to watch. The Twins are painful to watch.
  2. I was thinking today about who my favorite players are. What I came up with was in recent years I like players for their potential and often remain loyal well past the time they prove they won't live up to their perceived potential. Then I think back to my favorite time in baseball the sixties and I'm shocked at our present lack of players like Harmon K and Tony O and Jim K. Not just high achieving stars but players we looked up to. I don't think we'll ever have stars like that again. Is it the big salaries? Have we changed as fans? Has baseball changed for the worse? I think it may be all of the above.
  3. What does this game have in common with the wagging tails at the park? It's Fur To The End.
  4. Karma from bad management ran over the Dogma.
  5. He may not have enough games to show he is healthy making him not very tradable, especially at his salary. Unless they are in Dire Straits and do it as a Correa like salary dump (Money for nothing).
  6. Is that why so few people posting?
  7. The Twins did so great on the last round of salary dump, can't wait to see what they could get this time. More "prospects", aka "not ready for prime time now and maybe never ready". Prospects! Is thar gold in them thar hills?
  8. I've thought it looked like he sticks his nose into his helmet and smells it in between pitches. Or maybe reading his cheat sheet? Then has a weird way of starting with the back of the helmet and sliding it on his head. Maybe it is sweat that's distracting him. Regardless not a clutch hitter.
  9. I'm right there with you including the part about not following baseball for years then coming back. Anything that takes thinking out of the game makes the game more boring.
  10. Naw, that would be admitting mistake. They just made the biggest discovery of the century. They are genuses.
  11. Baseball is a child's game. We get to be children in this forum and let it all out. However when a bunch of children are gathered there is always an adult (or someone who sees themself as the adult), to scold them, tell them they are wrong.. We be kids just the same.
  12. Maybe this is what we need. They should know, it's the pre Twins.
  13. For some reason I thought he made a lot more but Google AI says... Rocco Baldelli's salary for 2025 is expected to be $1 million, as per his contract that includes a 2025 season with a 2026 club option. That gives me hope but it would still be admitting a mistake for Falvey, but on the other hand it could deflect some criticism. Maybe?
  14. I have had no hope but I will cling to the hope you are right.
  15. Fans in the stands on TV... Can I be Frank with you?
  16. If the same FO and management is in place does it mater at all what the lineup is or how much they spend.? The current organization has a poor record of developing prospects".. How can that change?
  17. Unfortunately we got the Job thing going big time.
  18. I started cheating on the Twins in June. Just once at first. It wasn't planned, it just happened. I felt guilty of course but once I opened that door... well you know. Eventually I felt guilty enough to have the difficult conversation with TC "I don't want to break up but I want to see other teams". It's actually been easier than I thought. It's been quite freeing to spend time with other teams that have something to give and not just take. Actually I grew up (60's) hating the Yankees and I choose the Twins as my team in 1961 because I tuned into a Twins / Indians game and the Twins were behind. It was then I decided I'm for the underdog. Recently I've been a little partial to the Red Sox because they have been in fight at times, but still somewhat of an underddog, and I like Fenway. In June I watched them take 2 of 3 in NY then the following week 3 or 3 against NYY at Fenway. This weekend they've taken 3 so far against the Yankees. It's been fun to watch a team win consistently. It's also fun to see them have bases loaded, no out and actually score multiple times. It's fun to see a team that isn't AA. It's fun to watch a manager that doesn't manage like a machine. It's been fun. I still tune into the Twins to see how bad the pitching is going to be. But I spend more time in the forum than watching the Twins. I just don't want to get to the point where lawyers are involved. Maybe we can still reconcile?
  19. The thing is even if one of these "prospects" actually turns into a MLB player they will soon reach arbitration eligibility and will be dumped for another "prospect" because the Twins don't want to pay the going rate. That's why we can't have good things.
  20. Ay, there's the rub. There's a difference between being a cheerleader and being a team player.
  21. Lewis may have talent but I don't see him ever being a mature baseball player. He seems to be stuck in 9 year old mode.
