  1. Your articulation of the Twins measure of success, or rather lack of, is spot on. Your humor is a minor masterpiece. Time to head to the bar.
  2. I'm big on taking responsibility for your actions / performance. It appears not everyone is.
  3. Quotes by Lewis from an article by Steve Schaeffer on the Twins website today. “I’m tired of being the one that’s getting bullied and picked on by this game,” “It feels like whether it wants me to suffer on the offensive side [in May] or, when I’m going hot, it wants to kick me out with an injury. It seems like it’s just picking on me at this moment,” Lewis said. “And so I’m just waiting for one of my friends to pick me up and stop this bully.” This is not an adult that is taking responsibility for their life in baseball. This is a 7 year old. I stopped seeing him a relevant a long time ago except as a cheer leader. I still think he could pull it together and grow into a player that can use the potential he has sometimes shown but I don't put much thought in it.
  4. Polanco walks off the Guardians who just don't seem to want 2nd place no mater how the Twins play.
  5. Maybe the Twins will hire some Physical Therapists and Trainers that know what they are doing?
  6. I had not looked at the news yet. Scary. And in Minneapolis even. My bad timing.
  7. They shot the Sheriff. Now I think they are coming for the Deputy.
  8. Since last year I viewed Lewis as a not even there. I tried my best to forget him rather count on him performing at the brilliant level that most expect from him. It was more difficult when when he played, watching him struggle. His moments of brilliance in the past were too long to be a fluke but overall I don't think he has the temperament to be a MLB player or even a AAA player. He seems like a 7 year old stuck in a mans body. He lacks seriousness He apparently has no sense of what his body can do and not do. It would seem the Twins staff has let him down too. I would love to see the monster crushing home runs in clutch situations again but I don't expect that, I don't think about that.
  9. There is a bright side. Paddack is giving up all those hits and runs on fewer pitches. He's efficient. Might go 5.
  10. I watch the Red Sox waiting for this game and fall asleep. Wake up and switch over to Twins and it's 0-5? The strange thing is for a second I was surprised. The "oh yea, not surprised". Is the pitching thing contagious?
  11. When the music's Ober, Turn out the lights, Turn out the lights...
  12. No mater how the Twins play the Guardians just don't want to take second place from them.
  13. Are you close to the guy that is yelling constantly and is picked up by the TV mikes? If so can you put a muzzle on him? Thanks! BTW I am envious. I wish I was where you are now.
  14. I don't think there are two hitters/people that are more different than those two.
  15. What position player would they replace? Unless they can find a 2nd catcher that can hit I don't see a position they would give up on. They won't do that because they would still have to pay Vasquez salary. The big non producing position is 3rd base and they're not going to give up on the experiment that is Lewis any time soon. They've been lucky this year with players other teams didn't want but that luck can't go on forever. The team that got us here has talent. They just need to be consistent. Not sure a new hitter will bring that kind of magic.
  16. Martin and Lewis should be together again, in St. Paul. I'm not sure Lewis has the temperament to work through his problems but the Twins will be a better team without him until he gets in together.
  17. The Twins resistance to trade, release, demote, or bench someone is perportional to how much they have invested in then, money and marketing. That's the theme. Lewis has been built into superstar status and he hasn't earned it. Not saying anything about blame here and don't tell us "people what we're reading into things or that there's something wrong with it.
  18. From the look of Lewis' face he must think every game is a makeup game.
  19. "You can see what he’s trying to do: reframe the moment, lighten the burden, return to the roots. But there’s an almost tragic irony in the effort. When a gifted athlete like Lewis, who once seemed like he could do no wrong, starts repeating “have fun” like a mantra, it doesn’t sound like a return to joy. It sounds like survival." That's a profound observation, more so than I usually read in these articles. His moments of brilliance were too long to be a fluke. Right now he is fighting only himself. I wish he could learn to shut up, stop trying so hard, watch, and maybe gain some humility. It doesn't help when the Twins have a bobble head day for a player that doesn't deserve it.
