Red Sox (Early) vs Twins (Woods Richardson): 4/15/26, 12:40pm
T.O. replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
His 5th year as a Twin. The previous two years the majority with the Twins. When do they decide he's just not going to be an MLB starter? -

Sure, trade all the quality players for low or mid level prospects. With the Twins record at player development you'll have a team of players like Julien, Miranda, Lee, Larnach, Wallner, and Lewis. Or pitchers that can't make it a third time through the order and have to go to the bullpen. Players with promise that ultimately are average at best, mediocre most of the time. The only bright spot in development is Keaschall and it may be to early to tell with him. This approach at best would yield a team barely making .500 but mostly south of that. Something has to change in the organization.

My memory is that the Twins had a good first half in 22. Buxton and Correa went to the All Start Game. When they came back they went into a huge slump. Most of the team followed. I remember Miranda was the one that kept getting clutch hits. That's when he became my favorite. I think, for awhile, there was talk him being in the running for Rookie Of The Year. During that winter he over trained, lost some weight or something like that. Then things started to happen. Really sad to see him end up here.

I will forgo using my Chip and Dale "In A Nutshell" picture but "That's It".

The FO is used to getting players that make a short stop in Minneapolis before being sent to other corners.

The Latest On Minnesota Twins' Managerial Search
T.O. replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The Twins are good at mystery. If they are silent now I can't see any reason that would change. It would seem likely they are investors that intend to cash in on some future profit, maybe from some profit sharing deal in the future. Some expectation that we don't know about.- 73 replies

The Minneapolis slogan back in the 80s was "The Mini Apple". -
I enjoyed watching the Blue Jays beat the Yankees. It's Twins adjacent because Varland pitched 4 times. Three good outings, 1 bad. We're OK without Varland cuz we got prospects.

If you take away the uninformed opinions or worrying about things that haven't happened there wouldn't be much left. I'm sure most find what's happening to the Twin unbearable. When the organization is secretive and can't even articulate a direction forward posting opinions gives people some sense of control? Maybe? As fans we need to talk about something. Some puppies and kittens would be nice sometimes. DREAMING OF A WORLD SERIES

Pohlads Preach Patience While Fans Question Commitment
T.O. replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
We used to have a theme song but I'm not sure if the fans sang it. -
I had forgotten that quote but that was part of why I didn't want the Twins to resign him. That's quite the rant but I've thought all of it myself and posted some of it and gotten many thumbs down. I wonder how many attitudes have changed?

My big complaint about the Twins the past two years isn't the not winning. Winning is good but more important is playing well as a team, doing things well, fielding, throwing running, hitting in clutch situations. AND a manager that has good instincts about how to use the players. Before the trade deadline, although some players excelled individually at times. the Twins played like they weren't a team. After the deadline they played like a AA team that wasn't playing like a team.

Baldelli may have been made a scapegoat but we was also a horrible manager that deserved to be fired. "At the end of the day, Baldelli’s teams won" In the era of the "Bomba Squad" when he didn't have to make so many decisions. At the beginning of the season the Twins were picked by many sources to win the division. If everyone had played at their best half the time they would have competed. The manager sets the tone and should utilize players in a way that builds on their strengths and builds confidence. Baldelli managed like a robot that was run by a random number generator. He acted like he didn't care and they played liked they didn't care. he was obsessed with analytics and had no ability to make decisions based on human instincts. Because the Twins were so painful to watch I watched a lot of other teams this year. It became so clear just how inept Rocco was. There is a question as to how many managerial decisions were being passed down by Falvey. No one really knows how much. I doubt Falvey called 30 times and told him to pinch hit Margo or pull a pitcher doing well after 5 with a decent pitch count. They made him a scapegoat. He was an awful manager.

I think everyone's so bummed they are taking anti-depresserants and didn't notice.
-
So many people talk about Falvey dictating what Baldelli did? What do we really know? I know nothing. Did Falvey make Baldelli pinch hit Margot 30 times? does he call and have him pull a pitcher after 5 even though pitch count is low and he's doing OK? Is the obsession with analytics coming just from Falvey? I wish I knew. Does anyone really know how involved the owners are beyond "Save me money" ? Do owners even care about selling tickets, etc? Is their potential financial gain tied to future revenue sharing or something like that? There's a lot I don't know. Does anyone have actual inside information?
