Miranda became one of my favorites in 22. He had a very good rookie year. In particular I remember that the Twins prima donnas stars, Correa and Buxton, went into a slump after the All Star game and most of the team followed. Miranda was the one that kept getting clutch hits at least until September.
After that he's thrived some but struggled mostly.
I hate to see him go but can't argue with the move.
I wouldn't count him out completely. Who knows.
I like Morneau because he is sincere and thoughtful. Provus is great.
I would think it's in their contracts that they not speak ill of the players, manager, FO, Owners, etc. I don't think they have a choice.
Is he capable of getting vocal? He can blow up at an umpire but otherwise it's hard to tell if he's even breathing.
Set aside his managerial decisions. If the manager acts like he doesn't care it's bound to rub off on the players.
Is there any real chance Baldelli will get fired soon? It would seem doing so would be an admission of failure by the FO.
Would the owners step in and make that decision? Do they even care what's going on?
He can't be gone too soon for me.
In my fantasies Correa agrees to be sent to St Paul, another team picks him up on waivers, along with his salary. Lee takes his place and is allowed plenty of time to make it or break it.
Can't be worse than what we have now. Maybe on defense but it would be nice to try.
I can dream.
Did someone appoint you as the arbiter of what comments people can make, what can be complained about and what can't.
This is the most insulting article I've ever read on this website. I had a no "thumbs down" policy for articles and comments but you've helped me change that.
Correa has proven he is good and defense and CAN get the clutch hits but since signing his big contract he doesn't very often or often enough. I don't know what goes on the field or in the clubhouse but I wonder if he isn't trying too hard to earn that salary, trying to be be THE team leader. I wish he'd stop and just play as a team member not a team leader.
Can't happen soon enough for me. Other than an occasional rant at an umpire (that now that I think about it I don't think I've seen in a long time) the guy shows no emotions, no interest, no spark, it's almost like he's not there. The Twins need a presence at the helm. Without that there really isn't a ship.
I don't give baldelli credit for anything and have no idea his motivation but...
in a perfect world those two, so called, team leaders / prima donnas would be pulled because they are not playing, not leading and let them watch from the dugout for awhile.
