    Sure, they 'can' compete the same way the Pirates or Rockies can. But the reality is, they won't. I suspect Lopez, Ryan and Jeffers are the next to go and the Twins will have an even younger and cheaper roster than they have now. The only hope is that there are sweeping changes to the front office because I don't trust this regime to make the right moves or to identify the right prospects either in trades or in the draft.

    I think some of Royce's comments fall under the heading of, everyone in that clubhouse thinks it but he's the one saying it. Doesn't make it right. But his comments are the result of a franchise that is a complete trainwreck. I don't see that Twins moving him though, at least not yet. 2026 is the make or break year. SWR isn't going anywhere. Pablo, Ryan and Ober are likely gone. And Abel, Bradley, Zeb, Festa...they could be good. They could struggle. Too many unknown quantities with the starting pitching. As long as SWR is cost effective, he'll have a spot. Roden stinks. Harsh but true. He should be a fourth outfielder playing 2 times a week and coming in as a defensive replacement. If the Twins plan on starting him or even platooning him so he gets regular at bats, then his spot in the line up is just another black hole among several.

    Agreed on Rocco. He should have been fired at the end of last season. Culture begins and ends with the manager. The leadership void is obvious to players. It explains Correa's ill-fated attempt at becoming a de facto player manager and Lopez's comments. They see it every day. They know what the manager does or doesn't do.

    Pablo, Ryan, Ober and Jeffers will be gone before spring training '26. It will be a long time before this team has any type of winning culture.

    Is there any chance that Culpepper and/or Jenkins are on the opening day roster in 2026. The rebuild is what it is. But, if you're going to do it - do it right. The last thing anyone needs is the likes of Outman, Roden and Julien hanging around on the 26-man roster in 2026 while the talent stays down in St. Paul or Wichita.

    I would love to be wrong... But, I would be shocked if Lopez / Ryan / Ober are on the opening day roster in 2026. The starting pitching 'depth' is going to POOF really quickly. Rotation in 2026... 1. Zebby Matthews 2. Simeon Woods-Richardson 3. Taj Bradley 4. Mick Abel 5. David Festa That looks like the rotation of a 65 win team.
