  1. Been lax with posting in the gameday threads - busy with back to school stuff and the like - Zebulon appears to have turned a bit of a corner here lately - hard to believe he's at 9 wins.
  2. Pretty fired up about this. Culpepper's shown a lot thus far and now add Jenkins to the mix. Reasons for major optimism...
  3. This road trip was a kick in the pants. Not surprised by what happened against the Padres but they needed a sweep against a really bad Oakland team. Twins have done a really good job of stepping back from the ledge at various points this season but I think their luck has run out.
  4. Culpepper! Future's looking pretty bright. Only the third Twin to have two 3-hit games in the first 14 games of his career. One, Kirby Puckett (!!!). Two...Brian Dinkelman. Here's hoping Pep's career trajectory is closer to Kirby's.
  5. Haven't been able to watch the last few games - and I have to say - doesn't look like I missed much. Brutal series in San Diego - seems like Morris had an 'Alcala' moment on Saturday night - and last night was too close for comfort.
  6. Yeah, he's had a good run to be sure but if he turns into a pumpkin - wouldn't be surprised.
  7. If you would have told me that Lopez would miss the entire season, Abel would miss most of it, and Ryan would be out for a period of time starting in late July, I would have thought 90+ losses for sure. Amazing how they've been able to cobble together a rotation.
  8. Regardless of what happens over the next 5 weeks, this season's been fun. I think what has been the most enjoyable is that just when you think the team is ready to hit rock bottom and flame out, they do something crazy...like sweep the Atlanta Braves. There is a lot of 'want-to' and fight in this group and while I won't take a deep dive on Rocco's tenure, those qualities didn't exist the last few seasons.
  9. Agreed, Chief. Was confused when I saw him hold up at third. Once contact is made, two outs, put your head down and run.
  10. Good job tonight, Zebby. Braves are a really, really good team. Bats could have done more for some breathing room. Fundy time.
  11. Ugh. Bats better wake up because 2 runs isn't getting it done.
  12. Making it too easy on Mahle. Make the guy throw some pitches.
