The Twins could have had Christian Walker when they traded Correa last summer. Admittedly, different times - Twins are looking to contend (hopefully) and Walker's contract has 1.5 years left instead of 2.5 years. But, he's owed $20M in 2027. I don't see a 'realistic' scenario where they're adding that type of payroll to next year's roster.

Castillo is owed $25M in 2027. At the time he signed that deal, that was a bargain. Not now however. Can't see Tom P. parting with prospects AND having $25M more in player salary on the books for 2027. I'm still not necessarily buying the idea that Seattle is going to have a sell-off. With that pitching, and considering how 'winnable' the AL is this year - they just need to sneak into the post-season and they'll become the team that no one wants to play.

There will be plenty of suitors for Jeffers. The Yankees are without Bellinger for 4-6 weeks. Judge and Stanton continue to be out. Desperate times in the Bronx. If they want Jeffers, make them overpay.

Pablo in the booth is really, really good. This weekend has been the best broadcasts of the season. He has the ability to bring so much knowledge, make it relatable and avoid turning it into a look at me thing. Bright future after his playing career is done.

He will be sorely missed. If Tom P.'s bluster this off season had any semblance of truth to it, he keeps Jeffers and gets an extension done. Yeah, I know. It's Boras and Jeffers wasn't too keen on ownership after last year's deadline. But, all that can be water under the bridge...if the Twins want it to be.

From a baseball standpoint, trading a 30 year old pitcher who missed time in 2024 and has dealt with two injury scares, albeit one incredibly short, in 2026, is the move. But, hard to support it if the return package is a lottery ticket. If a controllable pitcher was coming back, I could get behind it. As part of a sell off, white flag scenario, meh, I don't like it.
